There was a thread about this last week - it is ridiculous, and I did open a case with SS about it - just got a nonsensical reply.
Just not sure I can even be bothered to try and pursue it, but the whole thing is totally irrelevant for books.

Hi tjust1,
I think that someone realised that this attribution, for items that were no longer NEW, applied to used books, as opposed to those that were being sold by Amazon as NEW (but might not be in stock)…
To help those customers who had difficulty differentiate between NEW and NOT NEW items…

Open box? That will confuse consumers. Does it mean the box was just unsealed and then returned unused ? Or the pages were torn or the corners of the book were dented?

I’m not seeing ‘Open Box’ either. I’ve tried Chrome, Safari and Firefox, but no Used books that I can see are described, or listed as Open Box. Do you have some ISBNs of the Open Box examples?

I can’t remember which way around it was, but when this was mentioned recently I could see it differently on different browsers, as could others in the thread.

On all books now I’m seeing “Open Box” on my phone and “Pre-owned” on my PC. “Used” has disappeared altogether.
