Deactivated UK and DE linked accounts

Hi everyone :wave:t3:
It can’t have gone unnoticed that recently there has been a spate of erroneous deactivated and linked accounts.
For those of you whose account has been deactivated as linked with a DE one and for our German viewers a UK one!

The Moderateur on the German Forum has spoken to the responsible team and advises appealing using point 3.

3. Confirmed that you have never owned a separate account and believe this deactivation was in error. If we cannot substantiate the claim, your account will not be reinstated and this account will not be allowed to do business on Amazon in the future.

and another one…

Summary:-

Your account gets hacked (on inactive marketplace – EU/DE) your details are used to create other accounts, which you are then linked to.

Amazon’s kneejerk creation is that therefore YOU created these new accounts.

However,

Amazon are now asking for card and passport scans (via Seller Central) as fake accounts won’t be able to access them and will remain deactivated.

I hope this helps
Tracey

Hi @Anglozone Thank you so much for this update!!! I actually had an email back in January saying

“We believe that an unauthorized party may have accessed your Amazon.co.uk seller account. As a result, we have temporarily restricted access to your account and deactivated your listings. We do not know how your sign-in information was obtained, since the unauthorized party obtained this information on a site other than Amazon.co.uk

I checked everything they requested (card numbers etc) and nothing had been changed and, after consulting with Seller Support, I was told no further action needed to be taken so I never thought anymore of it.

Thank you again for bringing this to my attention, here’s hoping it gets me closer to getting my account reactivated :crossed_fingers:
