EU Digital Services Act - another compliance to kill us off

I just received a call from an Amazon account health associate from an EU marketplace (DE). This question is for anyone who sells into the EU. They asked me if I was aware of the Digital Services Act, which is about to come into effect, and requires photos “The information should be contained in six images that show all sides of the packaging and labelling, warnings and markings.”, text taken from Amazon’s help page from “product safety and compliance” keyword search.

I have not yet located any list of which products are included and which are not, but I have a terrible feeling that Amazon’s promise to deactivate any listings which do not comply after the start date, will stop my business dead in its tracks. (I won’t be able to comply with this photos requirement with the business model I have (I sell computers), I will have to consider moving on from ecommerce).

Has anyone else looked into this yet? I see that the large accountancy firms like Deloitte, PCW have made a pdf document, but it’s quite generic. When I just rang Avask, who are doing my EPR compliance applications, the guy had never even heard of this Act!

The rules don’t apply to selling in the UK since it’s out of the EU of course. But this will still impact everyone who sells into the EU in a massive way, … and it’s already kicking in right now…

I got this call last week, the rep on the line was very insistent “when are you going to do this? How quickly?” Etc

They were really rushing me I just said “woah, hang on give me a chance you’ve only just told me about it” no email prior or anything

Wasn’t very clear either is it every single one of my products or just certain ones?

The number of hoops to jump these days is crazy, I wouldn’t stand a chance if I had to start again today
