FBA Split Shipments Just Went Crazy

Hi

We are seeing Amazon now starting to spilt prevoius loads that we have sent before into multiple split shipments all over the country. Where previously we have sent 3 pallets of mixed items to a single fulfilment centre, they are now spliting the load across 7 (yes SEVEN) fulfilment centres - and charging £450 quid for the privelege of us distributing for them.

Rectifying this seems to be a long winded exercise of delting the shipment and starting over adding the elements a SKU at a time until the split happens. There is no discernible logic to it. Sometimes you add more and it redistributes the load again.

Does anyone know how to manage this - or if there is a strategy to avoid this - over than sending single SKU pallets?

Thanks

TD

I have noticed this as well.

Uploaded an FBA file, All to LBA4 apart from one item, so I remove the item and re-upload. Now a new item is going to a different FC. 4 times now.

This morning I uploaded a shipment, that is a replen of our best sellers and for the last 7 months has always gone to LBA4 or BHX4, and it split it into 6 FC’s.

In the end I uploaded everything, downloaded the packing slip, then removed the offending products that were causing the split and re-uploaded the rest. Was the only way to get around it.

Like you said, no logic at all.

Thanks - (and sorry the the typos in the original post, that frustrated typing for you) - We are having to delete shipments and rebuild them a line at a time. I think they are doing it to push the internal redistribution costs back on the seller, which makes sense from their perspective. Unfortunately it makes our lives as FBA sellers very complicated and for many sellers this may make FBA too difficult.

If anyone manages to decipher what the algorithm is doing please post here

Even for 7 pallets, £450 is way too much to spend sending them.
I’d suggest that you look at other couriers and don’t just rely on the prices that Amazon give you anyway.

As for them splitting, unfortunately it is something that they have always done, though not quite as extreme as that.

Has anyone found a work around or is it just luck if it’ll go to the same place?

I’ve never seen it this bad before with shipments. Last year amazon had us removing a lot of stock out of the fulfilment centres and this year theres this. It’s like Amazon pick August to make things harder
