New to Amazon - FBA and pallet question

Hi to all,

I am new to Amazon and its FBA service.

Prior to joining up I did research what the FBA does but I am still left wondering about a couple of things.

My product is part glass bottles and part lights. Does the FBA mean that Amazon will pack together my item if they arrive to their FBA centres separately? It sounds like a silly question but I don’t have time the time to put lights in their bottles into a bigger box to send to amazon FBA centres.

2nd question, what type of pallets do amazon FBA accept? I have attached a picture of my pallet that my bottles came with last Feb but I’m not sure if I can send Amazon my bottles on the same pallet.

I’m guessing the pallet answer is a no, are there any services out there reasonably priced to swap it over or buy/rent one?

For the first question, Amazon will not assemble products for you. You’ll either have to do it yourself or use a 3rd party prep service and pay them to do it.

As to pallets:

We only accept GMA grade B or higher, 1000x1200 mm 4-way access wood pallets or 1000x1200 mm CHEP pallets when delivering stock to UK.

  • Other pallets size can be rejected.
  • Pallet exchange is not available.
  • Pallets shipped internationally must be heat treated to ISPM-15 standard.
  • Broken or damaged pallets are not acceptable and may be rejected at the merchant’s expense.

There are plenty of places out there to buy pallets from.
You can get them for as little as about £4, but make sure they are in good condition and conform to the policies.

But are absolutely sure you want to use pallets?
It’s not easy to get them collected from a house, which going off that picture, is what you will be attempting. The pallet needs to be ready for collection for anything up to the full day. And the pallet companies are quite strict in what and were they will pick up from.

Amazon does not do assembly.

You need to do this yourself, or pay someone else to do it for you (either supplier or a 3PL).
