We want customers to be able to shop with confidence on Amazon. For certain products and categories, Amazon may require additional fees, performance checks and other qualifications.
Products that require approval
Even if selling in a category does not require approval from Amazon, selling certain products may require approval. To submit a request to sell:
Amazon’s policies require that certain products sold via Amazon meet specified certification standards. For more information, visit: Products requiring additional approvals .
The Toys and Games category requires approval for selling from November to the end of January. At other times, this category is open to all sellers. Seller performance is an important factor in the approval process.
Although listing products in the Consumer Electronics category is generally open to all sellers, sales of specific products may require approval from category managers. If you have received a message that the product you want to list is restricted to approved sellers, contact us for approval.
Categories that require approval
You are required to obtain approval from Amazon before listing in certain product categories.
The categories listed at the bottom of this page currently require approval. Click the category that you are interested in selling in and follow the instructions to submit your application.
Sellers must meet additional qualifications to sell certain brands or list within certain categories on Amazon. Follow these steps to apply for approval:
From the Inventory menu, select Add a Product.
Search for the item that you want to sell.
In the search results, click the Listing limitations apply link next to the item.
Click the Request Approval button to begin the application process.
To check the status of an application, return to the Add a Product tool and click the Manage your selling applications link.
