Shipment Label Requirements

Important: Please note that the PCP LTL Partner Carrier option is currently available for Sellers shipping from an address in the UK, Germany, Spain and France for domestic and cross-border shipments to Amazon fulfilment centres. The option is currently unavailable for Sellers shipping from an address in Italy. Once this option is available in other locals, this page will be updated.

Ensure your products arrive safely and quickly to an Amazon Fulfilment Centre by following these important requirements for shipping labels and packaging your inventory.

Once you decide what you are shipping to Amazon and determine the appropriate shipping method and carrier to use, it is time for labelling and packaging. Download the manual, Packaging and Shipping Inventory to Amazon, or share with your distributor or supplier when they send directly to Amazon. Check back periodically for updated versions.

Each box and pallet you ship to an Amazon fulfilment centre, including units sent in a manufacturer box, must be properly identified with a unique box ID (see Example: Box ID label) and pallet label. Follow these guidelines for labeling your boxes:

  • Print the full set of labels. Because each label is unique, do not photocopy, reuse or modify labels for use on additional boxes.
  • Labels supported measure 3 1/3 x 4 inches (8.4 cm x 10.2 cm). If you have a thermal printer, you now also have the option to print directly on 4 x 6 inches (10.2 cm x 15.2 cm) format by selecting "thermal printing paper" in the box and pallet label printing options.
  • Do not place labels on a seam or opening on the box as they will be damaged when the box is opened.
  • The FBA delivery label should be placed next to the carrier label on a flat surface of the box, so that the barcodes do not fold over the edges or corners.
  • Both labels must remain uncovered so that they are scannable and readable.
  • Each box that you include in the shipment must have its own FBA shipping label printed from your Shipping Queue.
  • Each pallet that you send needs four labels, one in the top centre of each side.
  • If you are shipping multiple case-packs in a master carton, apply the unique shipping label on the master carton that you are using to ship the products to the Amazon fulfilment centre. You do not need to apply the unique shipping labels to the individual case packs inside the master carton.

You can print shipment labels within the Shipment Creation Workflow. If you have already created your shipment, you can access your shipment from the Shipping Queue.

Box content information

When you provide box content information during the shipment creation workflow, each box ID label will contain the information for a specific box. To avoid delays in receiving your inventory at the fulfilment centre, make sure to put the correct label on the correct box. We recommend you verify that the SKU and number of units in each box match the SKU and number of units in the box content information you provided in the shipment creation workflow. To learn more, see Box content information for FBA shipments to Amazon.

Important: Failure to provide accurate box content information might result in blocking of future shipments, and a manual processing fee might be applied.
Important: 2D barcodes do not replace Amazon box ID labels. If you use 2D barcodes to provide box content information, Amazon box ID labels are still required. For more information, see Using 2D barcodes for box content information.

Amazon Partnered Carrier

Important: When using the Amazon Partnered Carrier account to create pre-paid shipping labels, your account will be charged for the cost of shipping if you do not cancel within a designated period, even if you do not use the label. For Partnered Carrier small-parcel, the period is 24 hours. For Partnered Carrier Pallet, the period is one hour. Cancelling the shipment does not cancel the Inbound Transportation Charge for the Amazon-partnered carrier. You must void the charges under the Provide Details tab.

To do this, you must:

  1. Go to your seller account, and go to Shipping Queue
  2. Locate the shipment and click the Work on shipment button
  3. Under the Delivery Service section, click Void Charges

You will not be able to cancel the charges or receive a refund if the time since approving the charges is 24 hours for Partnered Carrier small-parcel and one hour for Partnered Carrier Pallet

Within the shipping workflow is the option to take advantage of Amazon's discounted shipping rates through the Partnered Carrier Programme

Partnered Carrier: Small-Parcel

In the Select Carrier screen of the workflow, select Small Parcel Delivery as your shipping method and Amazon-Partnered Carrier as the SPD Carrier. After you click Save & Continue, enter the number of packages and the weight of each package.

Note: Large, lightweight packages may incur a dimensional weight surcharge

The delivery workflow will provide an estimate for the delivery. If you accept the charges, your account will be billed for the cost of delivery.

After you have completed your shipment, give your box to your regularly scheduled UPS pickup driver or take the package to either a local UPS location or if you are located in Germany to a DHL pickup location.

Note: You can still cancel charges for the shipment and use another carrier by clicking Cancel Charges below the Estimated Shipping Cost provided you cancel within 24 hours of accepting the charges.

If you decline the charges, you will be returned to the Select Carrier screen so you can select another carrier option.

Partnered Carrier: Pallet (Less than Truckload – LTL

In the Select Carrier screen of the workflow, select Less Than Truckload (LTL) as your shipping method and Amazon-Partnered Carrier as the LTL Carrier.

After you click Save & Continue, enter the number of packages and the weight of each package. Non-stackable pallets shipped to the UK warehouse must not exceed 120 x 100 x 180cm (l x w x h). Non-stackable pallets shipped to a warehouse outside of the UK must not exceed 120 x 80 x 180cm. We do not allow pallets to be stacked.

Then enter the enter pallet information for your shipment.

For Partnered Carrier LTL shipments, you will also be asked to enter your preferred shipment pickup date (‘freight ready date’). This can be any date in the next two weeks. Any shipments which you try and schedule for more than two weeks in advance will not be accepted. Also enter the declared value of shipment and confirm the primary contact person for the shipment.

The delivery workflow will provide an estimate for the delivery. If you accept the charges, your account will be billed for the cost of delivery.

The day before the shipment pickup, Amazon will send you an email confirming the details of your shipment. Separately, the assigned carrier will send an intro email to organise final details of your shipment pickup. Ensure you print the Amazon confirmation email and get the carrier to sign this when they collect your goods, as this can be used as a proof of pickup.

Note: You can still cancel charges for the shipment and use another carrier by clicking Cancel Charges below the Estimated Shipping Cost provided you cancel within one hour of accepting the charges. See PCP FAQs for more information.

If you decline the charges, you will be returned to the Select Carrier screen so you can select another carrier option
