Amazon Partnered Carrier Programme (PCP) – Overview & How to Get Started

Important: We are offering a discount on cross-border FBA shipments to and from the UK for a limited time. The promotion applies to Amazon partnered carrier shipments that are:
  • sent from an address in the UK to a fulfilment centre in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland or Czech Republic
  • sent from an address in Germany, France, Italy or Spain to a fulfilment centre in the UK

The promotion will help you manage inventory transfers when we stop cross-border transshipment on December 18, 2020. For more information, see Prepare your Amazon business for Brexit.

For more information on the promotion and the average discount rates, see frequently asked questions.

Note: Amazon partnered less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments are currently available in the UK, Germany, Spain and France for domestic and cross-border shipments to fulfilment centres. The option is currently unavailable for sellers shipping from an address in Italy. Once this option is available in other locales, this page will be updated

Amazon Partnered Carrier options

This page provides information about the partnered carrier options that are available to FBA sellers for both small parcel deliveries (SPDs) and less than truckload/full truckload (LTL/FTL) shipments within the UK, France, Germany and Spain.

  • SPDs consist of units packed in boxes, and each box is individually labelled for delivery. These are typically smaller shipments that are sent via UPS or DHL in Germany.
  • LTL/FTL shipment combines individual boxes on pallets for delivery. These are typically shipped via UPS Freight or Kuehne + Nagel.

Amazon partnered SPD carrier

When preparing your shipment to a fulfilment centre via the shipment creation workflow, you will see an option to use an Amazon partnered carrier in the Delivery servicessection.

Note: For cross-border shipments, this option will only be enabled for eligible shipments. Only small parcel deliveries that originate in an Amazon European marketplace and are delivered to any of our European fulfilment centres are permitted.

To participate in this service, use the following steps:

  1. Select Amazon partnered carrier in the shipment creation workflow.
  2. Once you enter the details of your delivery, you will receive an estimate of the delivery charges.
  3. Before accepting the delivery charges, carefully review the Amazon Partnered Carrier terms and conditions for participation in the programme, as well as the carrier terms and conditions.
  4. Click Accept charges.
  5. After you have completed your delivery, contact your carrier to schedule the pickup. Alternatively, you can take the package to a local carrier’s pickup centre.

Shipping charges are based on the dimensions and weight of the parcels or pallets, the address where the shipment originated and the destination fulfilment centre. The estimated cost of these charges will be subject to adjustment if Amazon or the carrier determines that the actual weight or dimensions of the package are different from the weight or dimensions provided by you. Learn more about providing box details.

Note: FBA units must be packaged according to requirements from Amazon and your carrier. For more information, see Packaging requirements.

Amazon partnered pallet carrier

To participate in partnered carrier pallet shipments, use the following steps:

  1. Select Amazon partnered carrier in the Delivery service section of the shipment creation workflow.
Note: This option will only be enabled for eligible marketplaces and postcodes.
  2. Once you enter the details of your delivery, you will receive an estimate for the delivery charges. You will also receive an estimated pickup date. Your pickup date will be either on the freight-ready date or two days from when the estimate is accepted, whichever is greater.
  3. Before accepting the delivery charges, carefully review the Amazon Partnered Carrier terms and conditions for participation in the programme, as well as the carrier terms and conditions.
  4. Click Accept charges.
  5. After you have completed your shipment, the carrier will email the point of contact for your business, which is provided during the shipment booking, the day before the shipment is due to be picked up.

Delivery charges are based on the quantity, dimensions and weight of pallet or pallets, the address where the delivery originated and the destination fulfilment centre. The estimated cost of these charges will be subject to adjustment if Amazon or the carrier determines that the actual weight or dimensions of the package are different from the weight or dimensions provided by you, or if the products on the pallets need to be re-stacked or if the pallets are damaged.

Note: FBA units must be packaged according to requirements from Amazon and your carrier. For more information, see Packaging requirements.
Important: The Amazon Partnered Carrier programme prohibits transporting dangerous goods or hazardous material (hazmat). Learn more about the Shipping and routing requirements.

Cancelling an Amazon partnered carrier shipment

You can cancel Amazon partnered SPD shipments up to 24 hours after approving the estimated shipping charges. For Amazon partnered pallet shipments, you can cancel up to one hour after approving the estimated shipping charges.

Go to your shipping queue and follow these steps:

  1. Locate the shipment and click Work on shipment.
  2. Click the Provide details tab.
  3. Click Void charges.
Note: Cancelling the delivery does not cancel the charges. You must follow the instructions above to ensure a pickup is not made and charges will not apply. If 24 hours have passed since you approved the charges, you will not be able to cancel the charges or receive a refund for small parcel shipments. You can cancel the charges for Amazon partnered pallet shipments up to one hour after you have approved the charges. Contact Selling Partner Support to process a refund.
