Amazon limits the addition of new sellers in certain categories to ensure a high level of quality so that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon. In order to sell in the Grocery category, you will have to meet the requirements listed below. While our site-wide selling guidelines still apply, please note the additional requirements for this category.

Product requirements

  • The products you sell must be new.
  • All products must be intended for sale within the EU and comply with all laws and regulations of the EU (or of local countries).
  • For each product, a valid barcode (product identifier) registered and associated with the product is required.
  • All food products offered for sale on an Amazon website must (as a minimum) be labelled in the language of that website. For example, all food products offered for sale on must (at a minimum) be in German.
  • All food products offered for sale on an Amazon website must be intended for sale in the EU and comply with all applicable EU and local laws and regulations including, but not limited to, food information and labelling regulations (such as Regulation 1169/2011/EC).

  • For medicinal products: A valid EU common logo URL, which indicates that you are registered to sell medicinal products; refer to the EU Common Logo URL.
