Small and Light prep and packaging guide

Packaging checklist

  • All ASINs meet programme eligibility requirements and have been successfully added (See FBA Small & Light Inventory report).
  • All products must have a single scannable barcode, placed on the outside of each shippable unit, which is registered in the Amazon catalogue and uniquely identifies the product. This may be an EAN/UPC/ISBN or an FBA FNSKU label. The barcode should also be printed in human-readable form. It should be positioned on the exterior of the product in a flat, easily accessible and scannable location (i.e., not positioned around a corner, curve or on a seam).
  • Same-ASIN units are bundled together in clear plastic bags, manufacturer or seller case packs.
  • Each bag, outer case or shrink-wrapped bundle has a label with the total quantity of sellable units.
  • Glass and sharp objects are safely packaged to prevent breakage or injury. For more information, see Packaging glass ceramic breakable and fragile units and Packaging sharp units.
  • Small and Light only uses poly bags and Jiffy bags. Crushable items such as crisps and glass should be properly prepped and packaged so that they do not crush or break when shipped. Broken or crushed items will not be received at the fulfilment centre. They will be removed or disposed of at your expense.

Shipment checklist

  • A minimum of 24 units per SKU must be sent in each shipment.
  • Shipment contents match the shipping plan.
  • Shipment does not contain dangerous goods (hazmat) or items that are temperature-sensitive, meltable, or crushable.
  • The shipping box does not exceed 2.4 x 22 x 30 cm on any side, and does not weigh more than 225 g.

Tips for success

  • Do not send shipments with excess inventory. For more information, see Manage Excess Inventory.
  • Only send shipments to the fulfilment centre specified on the shipping label.

Unique programme requirements

  • Each unit weighs less than or equal to 225 g, and has dimensions less than or equal to 2.4 x 22 x 30 .
  • A minimum of 24 units per ASIN must be sent in each shipment.
  • All same-ASIN units within a shipping box must be bundled together using a clear plastic bag, a manufacturer or seller case pack (i.e. boxed or shrink-wrapped), or other means of grouping your same-ASIN units together.
  • On the outside of each same-ASIN bag or pack, the total quantity of sellable units must be clearly labelled.
  • FBA Small and Light does not provide prep or labelling services. Items not properly prepped will need to be removed or disposed of at your expense. For more information, see Remove inventory (overview).
  • FBA Small and Light cannot accept dangerous goods (hazmat), crushable or temperature sensitive items.

General FBA Requirements

Shipping boxes weighing between 15 – 30 kg need to be highlighted as ‘heavy parcel’ and must not exceed 63.5 cm on the longest side.
