How can I download the report?

You can access the reports any time from the EPR report download page on Seller Central. The previous month’s report will be available on or after the 5th day of the current month. Data before January 2021 is not available.

Which information is included in the report?

EPR reports are generated based on catalogue information provided by sellers who created the listing. Where information in the catalogue is not available, we apply approximation based on information of similar products.

Are all columns needed for EPR reporting?

Depending on EPR category, information in some columns may not be requested by Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs). We provide all information for your convenience.

Can I change the report?

Yes, we encourage you to review the report in detail and modify if necessary before using it for EPR reporting. EPR reports are available for your convenience and reference to support the process of EPR reporting. You are free to modify the reports and bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the information you provide to PROs.

How can I change the report?

The report is available in .csv and .txt formats. The report can be opened in Excel or Notepad.

The fields “PAPER_KG”, “GLASS_KG”, “ALUMINUM_KG”, “STEEL_KG”, “PLASTIC_KG”, “WOOD_KG” and “OTHER_KG” show the estimation of the amount of material used in a primary package based on total units sold. Check and adapt these fields according to your actual data, if required.

The field “TOTAL_REPORTED_WEIGHT_KG” shows the amount of waste generated by the number of product units sold. It is calculated by multiplying “TOTAL_UNITS_SOLD” by “ITEM_WEIGHT_WITHOUT_PACKAGE_KG”. Check and adapt these fields according to your actual data, if required.

If you want to create an EPR report for a certain country and category, filter columns “AMAZON_MARKETPLACE” and “EPR_CATEGORY”.

What is the difference between primary and secondary packaging?

Primary packaging is the packaging unit used to wrap the product, for example, the branded box of a pair of shoes or the aluminium can containing a soft drink. Secondary packaging refers to delivery boxes or bags used to protect the product during transport to the customer. This can be extended to filling material to protect the product and tapes to secure the package. Shipping labels are also a part of secondary packaging.

How is primary package material weight estimated?

Amazon provides an estimation of primary package materials to support you in fulfilling your reporting obligations. The estimation is based on the primary package of similar products.

The estimation of the primary package weight used for textile products equals to zero.

The difference between the catalogue values “ITEM_WEIGHT_WITH_PACKAGE_KG” and “ITEM_WEIGHT_WITHOUT_PACKAGE_KG” could differ from the sum of the primary package weight estimation.

Check and, if necessary, modify the values before reporting.

From July 1, 2022, I am required to report secondary packaging amounts in Germany. This includes packaging used under Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA). Will Amazon share information about secondary packaging used to ship FBA sales?

Yes. Amazon is working on this report and will share more information about FBA packaging in the second quarter of 2022.

Can I see information about EPR-contributions I have to pay to Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs)?

The EPR report does not contain information related to EPR-contributions you have to pay.

Why are there blank fields in my report?

Amazon may not have sufficient information about your products to populate all fields within the report. You can add further details to the report. We recommend to keep your listing content up to date to enable us to generate better quality reports.

How is an EPR category determined?

An EPR category is determined based on regulations and our categorisation. Amazon is constantly working on improving the accuracy of categorisation.

Why are there negative values in my report?

A negative value represents returns in a given period.

Are returns excluded from the report?

AFN (Amazon Fulfilment Network) returns are not excluded from the report but are subtracted from the number of units sold because our methodology considers if a product was returned via our fulfilment network.

In contrast, seller-fulfilled returns are excluded from the report and not subtracted because the product must be returned via your own fulfilment channels.

In case you would like to modify the report to account for seller-fulfilled returns, refer to the section How can I change the report?.

Can I provide Amazon with accurate information about EPR categorisation, primary package materials, unit weight or other attributes of the product?

EPR reports are generated based on information from the catalogue, but you can update values of your listings. Changes will be reflected in the next reporting period.

Why can I see a country where I do not sell and an EPR category which I am not subject to on the download page for the EPR Report?

You can see all available countries and categories in filters on the download page. If you do not sell in a country or are not subject to a category, the corresponding report will remain empty.

Why is my report empty?

If you did not generate sales of a product subject to EPR regulation in a given period, EPR category or country, the corresponding downloaded report will remain empty.

Can I see information on a SKU-level?

The data is aggregated on ASIN level. Multiple seller SKUs can be assigned to one ASIN.

Why do I see the report status as “Cancelled”?

This means that there is a technical issue and the report could not be downloaded. Try to download the report again later after 24 hours. If the status is still “Cancelled”, contact Selling Partner Support .

What are the next steps after downloading EPR reports?

After downloading EPR reports, check the reports and modify their content, if needed. Once complete, your reports are ready for submission to the corresponding PRO or authority.

How can I see details and explanations for each column in the report?

For more information, go to EPR report field definitions.
