How to upload EU Energy Efficiency Information on Amazon

On the product detail page, energy efficiency information is displayed through a special Energy Labelling widget that activates as soon as specific product attributes have been provided.

In order to comply with energy labelling regulatory requirements, we request that you input or upload required information when listing new products governed by the energy labelling regulation or updating existing listings. Also, ensure that any energy rating information included as free text or in image files corresponds to the required rating. This includes but is not limited to product titles, product bullet points, and product fiches. New energy labelling requirements came into force and affected the categories of products listed below:

Equipment affected by the new energy labelling regulation

From March 1, 2021 on:

  • Fridges (domestic and professional)
  • Dishwashers
  • Washing machines (including washer driers)
  • Electronic displays

From September 1, 2021 on:

  • Lamps and light bulbs

In order to list in the categories affected by the new energy labelling requirements, you need to provide the following attributes to display the widget on the product detail page:

eu_energy_efficiency_rating (new energy efficiency rating)

The energy efficiency class of the product, a value from A, B, C, D, E, F, G.

energy_efficiency_image (energy efficiency label)

The image of the product's energy efficiency label.

Requirement: The image must have a resolution of 72 pixels per inch and a minimum length of 500 pixels on the longest side. The recommended file format is JPEG (.jpg), and the image name must be valid and correctly formatted. Please see below for a step-by-step guide on processing an image upload.

product_efficiency_image (product fiche)

The image of the product fiche.

Requirement: The image must have a resolution of 72 pixels per inch and a minimum length of 500 pixels on the longest side. The recommended file format is JPEG (.jpg) and the image name must be valid and correctly formatted. Please see below for a step-by-step guide on processing an image upload.

The attributes can be provided in Seller Central through the Inventory tool by editing a product or using inventory file templates (through the Add Products via Upload option).

Note: Updates can take up to 24 hours.

Step-by-step guide on image upload


  1. On Seller Central, go to Inventory, and then select Upload images.
  2. On the Bulk image upload page, you can upload single images or a whole ZIP file with images.
    Important: Remember to follow the image naming guidelines listed below before you upload your images.

    For the UK:

    Energy efficiency label: ASIN.UKEE.JPG

    As an example, ASIN 123XXXXXX will have a file name of 123XXXXXX.UKEE.jpg

    Product fiche: ASIN.UKPF.JPG

    As an example, ASIN 123XXXXXX will have a file name of 123XXXXXX.UKPF.jpg

    For Germany:

    Energy efficiency label: ASIN.GLEE.JPG

    As an example, ASIN 123XXXXXX will have a file name of 123XXXXXX.DEEE.jpg

    Product fiche: ASIN.DEPF.JPG

    As an example, ASIN 123XXXXXX will have a file name of 123XXXXXX.DEPF.jpg

    For France:

  3. Choose the image or ZIP file you want to upload from your computer.
  4. Click on Submit images.

You can select status report to check if your upload was successful.

Other equipment (old energy labelling)

In order to list in the categories affected by the old energy labelling requirements, you need to provide the following attributes to display the widget on the product detail page:

eu_energy_label_efficiency_class (energy efficiency class range)

Indicates the efficiency range of your product, for example, “A-G” or “A+++-D”.

efficiency (energy efficiency rating)

The energy efficiency class of the product, for example, A.

product_efficiency_image_url (product fiche)

The URL address where the image of the product fiche is stored.

Requirement: The image must have a resolution of 72 pixels per inch and a minimum length of 500 pixels on the longest side. The recommended file format is JPEG (.jpg) and the URL must be valid (for example, it must include https://).

For the UK, the file name must contain .PFUK (for example: https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFUK.jpg).

For Germany, the file name must contain .PFDE (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFDE.jpg).

For France, the file name must contain .PFFR (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFFR.jpg).

For Italy, the file name must contain .PFIT (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFIT.jpg).

For Spain, the file name must contain .PFES (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFES.jpg) .

For Sweden, the file name must contain .PFSE (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFSE.jpg).

For Netherlands, the file name must contain .PFNL (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFNL.jpg).

For Poland, the file name must contain .PFPL (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.PFPL.jpg).

If the file name is not formatted correctly the image will not display on the product detail page.

energy_efficiency_image_url (energy efficiency label)

The URL address where the image of the product's energy efficiency label is stored.

Requirement: The image must have a resolution of 72 pixels per inch and a minimum length of 500 pixels on the longest side. The recommended file format is JPEG (.jpg), and the URL must be valid (for example, it must include https://).

The file name must contain .EEGL (for example, https://www.example.com/amazon_images/vacuum.EEGL.jpg).

If the file name is not formatted correctly the image will not display on the product detail page.

The attributes can be provided in Seller Central through the Add a Product tool by editing a product or using inventory file templates (through the Add Products via Upload option), and through the Amazon Marketplace Web Service interface.
