In order to simplify listing experience and facilitate more consistent customer experience, Amazon plans to remove department_name from listing experience for Apparel products. To derive the department_name attribute, Amazon will use two attributes which already exist as mandatory attributes in listing experience for Apparel: age_range_description and target_gender. This change will be made any time after November 15, 2021 across the below product types.
Product type |
SWEATER, COAT, TUNIC, KURTA, SOCKS, UNDERPANTS, SWEATSHIRT, PAJAMAS, ROBE, TIGHTS, BLAZER, TRACK_SUIT, VEST, SALWAR_SUIT_SET, SUIT, SHIRT, PANTS, SHORTS, OVERALLS, BRA, UNDERGARMENT_SLIP, SWIMWEAR, CORSET, HAT, SKIRT, DRESS |
After this change, the department_name field will be unavailable in listing experience, but the department_name attribute will remain in Amazon catalog. Amazon will automatically derive the correct department_name values from age_range_description and target_gender which are mandatory attributes, as shown below.
