FBA Dangerous Goods programme

The FBA Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) programme allows sellers to offer and sell dangerous goods (also called hazardous materials, or hazmat) products through Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA). Previously known as the Hazmat Pilot, the programme is accepting new participants by waitlist.

To join the FBA Dangerous Good (Hazmat) programme waitlist, select the Dangerous Goods FAQ option below, click Next and then click Apply for the Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) programme.

Sellers on the waitlist will be notified when an opportunity to participate in the programme becomes available.

When offering a product that is regulated as a dangerous good, you may be required to provide specific information and documentation to Amazon (for example, a Safety Data Sheet and/or an exemption sheet). Failure to provide this information can result in delays in processing your deliveries and in the cancellation of customer deliveries by Amazon’s carrier partners. For details, refer to Required dangerous goods information and documentation and FBA dangerous goods review process.

Frequently asked questions

What are dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods may include many consumer-grade products, such as perfumes, beauty products, household cleaners, and spray paints. They are substances or materials that may pose a risk to health, safety, property or the environment while storing, handling or transporting because they contain flammable, pressurised, corrosive, or otherwise harmful substances.

For more information, refer to Dangerous goods identification guide and Examples of Amazon products that may be regulated as dangerous goods

Important: Certain products may be eligible for sale on Amazon, but are not eligible for Fulfilment by Amazon. Failure to comply with FBA product safety compliance requirements may result in the suspension of sales, suspension of all deliveries (for example, Inbound, Transship, Removal Orders, and other delivery types), and inventory disposal.

When you send inventory to Amazon, you warrant that all products comply with any legal requirements, and that the information you provide is complete, correct and up to date. Providing incorrect or incomplete information may result in your products being blocked from sale, and you may be asked to take corrective actions. Products that are identified as unclassified dangerous goods upon receipt at the fulfilment centre may be disposed of.
