Recalls & Product Safety
Amazon wants to ensure that products offered through Amazon are safe (that is, there is no risk that they will cause death, personal injury or damage to property). Listings for any products recalled by the manufacturer or by a government agency are prohibited. Amazon also reserves the right to take into account recalls made by government agencies of other countries.
Products that are not safe are prohibited. Customers trust that they can always buy with confidence on Amazon. The products you offer for sale on Amazon must comply with your seller agreement, including all applicable Amazon policies and all applicable laws and regulations. This could help increase your chances of succeeding as a seller on Amazon, as well as help you avoid practices that could lead to blocked listings or even prevent you from selling on Amazon.
Products requiring additional approvals
Amazon’s policies require that certain products sold via Amazon in the EU and UK meet specified certification standards. Ensure that you read all of the requirements and guidance before making a submission to sell these products. To sell these products on Amazon, apply according to the instructions listed on the product page.

II. Additional useful information in the UK

From January 1, 2021, the UK will no longer participate in the EU’s Safety Gate (linked above). The UK intends to establish its own reporting portal. Until it does, notifications will be made direct to:
- Trading Standards, in Great Britain; or
- District Councils, in Northern Ireland.
