Do you refund return postage?
A customer has asked me to refund them for return postage.
Amazon already gave them an A-Z claim because he claimed it and now wants return postage refunded as well.
I ship the products myself and I don’t refund return postage, but was wondering if it’s any different for A-Z claims or if it’s against Amazon policy?

With us, it depends. If it’s an error on the buyer’s part then we expect them to pay, but if it’s a case that we’ve sent the wrong item/size, etc, then we’ll pay for the return postage. We don’t have the pre-paid return label system on here, so we just normally ask the customer to get a proof of postage and we add the refund for the cost of the return when we refund the order. With the A-Z I don’t know if there’s a specific rule, but we treat it as the same as we would with a regular return; If the customer made the mistake then they pay, if we made the mistake then we’ll pay.

depends on the return reason - if its a change of mind then no - if it was a damaged item on receipt then yes but if they have already opened an a-z claim and won there’s no more for you to refund and tbf i’m surprised they even returned it if they had already won the a-z and were refunded

You can’t refuse refund of postage, ad hoc, you have to apply the following rules (as quoted by Amazon)
Sometimes the cost of return shipping is your responsibility. For example, if you ship an incorrect or damaged product, you cannot deduct the original shipping or return shipping costs from the refund. You must provide a full refund to the buyer.
For customer-fault returns, for example, accidental order or better price available, you can deduct the cost of return shipping from the refund.
However, some items cannot be returned for health reasons if they have been opened, so you are entitled to treat these items differently.

No. Not in this case. I’d now simply ignore the buyer. Amazon have never said anything to me.

If Amazon refunded them I am puzzled as to why they want second refund for the postage?

If item is faulty, then you should pay for return and return it to manufacturer.
DONT refund timewasters who think youre running an approval business
