Help Needed: Incorrect Product Type & Browse Node, No other option available.

Hi everyone,

We’re currently trying to list a new product under our brand – a “Running Vest with Water Bottle” – but are facing an issue with the Product Type and Recommended Browse Node during the listing process.

The system is only offering one product type, which is unrelated to our item.

Ideally, our product should fall under:

Product Type: Hydration Vest – Hydration Pack

Category Path / Browse node: Sports & Outdoors > Sports > Running > Hydration Packs

However, the only Recommended Browse Node being displayed is for “Motorcycle Accessories & Parts”, which is completely irrelevant.

This not only will affects the visibility of our product but also prevents us from proceeding with a properly categorized listing.

We’ve also tried using the “Get help and resources” section, but it requires a SKU to proceed — which we cannot generate until the correct category is selected.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue when trying to list a niche or specialized product? If so, we’d really appreciate any advice or workaround that helped you resolve it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Stayprotech, just a suggestion based on my experience with Amazon.

Just to be sure, before creating the listing, you may try to provide a different ASIN and SKU existing and divert the concern to the creation of the listing when using the "get help". You may double-check with seller support if the category path or the Sports & Outdoor is still accepting new products, if yes, then you may request directly with them. But below, are just few tips for future reference.

Here's a few things you can do:

1. You can proceed with the provided node when creating the listing.

2. Once, the listing is created you may contact Amazon to make the changes or also use the flat file to make update of the listing via FULL UPDATE.

You can download the feed file via Add Products via Upload with the screenshot below:

Then, generate the spreadsheet.

2. Via Seller Support

What do you need help with? Browse Node Change Request ASIN "type your ASIN number"

What steps have you taken already? Cannot select the browse node

Input the ASIN number then, it will give you the tools to select the category path.

I hope this will help.

How did you create the listing?

If you did it will a spreadsheet upload, it may be because the template has been generated for the wrong product type. In which case you just need to download a fresh template.
