Payment of Debt to Amazon

Hello, I as a seller had my listening removed yesterday on Christmas day. Every customer who bought a tabletop Fire pit started getting a refund. I have now accrued $4,238 in debt. I would like to close the account and dispose of the remaining stock. What can happen to me if I don't pay the 4238USD that Amazon wants from me? What consequences can happen to me? Thanks for the clarification

Why was the listing removed? What notification did Amazon send you regarding your account or the product in question?

Withhold payment and sue in small claims court in your state to recoup the proceeds. Section 18(i) of the agreement states you can sue in small claims court over disputes.

This also just happened to me. Haven't sold anything on amazon in years, unfortunately I never closed my account. I do not know what to do. Would like to know what happens if I don't pay, or how to setup a payment plan. Completely absurd that amazon has the right to retroactively declare that I owe them the money back for every single sale of a product going back years. Support is, as usual, useless.

This happened to me too. I stopped selling on Amazon since early 2024. I made a mistake not to remove the listings and close the seller account. Also I didn't cancel my credit card. Amazon refunded to all buyers who purchased the tabletop fire pit from Dec 2022 to Nov 2023 and charged to my card.

This is the product compliance policy Amazon is referring to https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G5P5YMQXX9Y34NVU.

I don't think I found this policy when I was performing the product research and developing the product. Anyone can confirm if this is a new policy?
