Do I need a LUCID number to sell on Amazon.DE?

Hi!

I am a long time Amazon.COM and Amazon.CA seller and just listed my 1st product on Amazon.DE.

I received an e-mail from Amazon saying they de-activated my listing because I did not provide a LUCID number.

I am an authorized seller of many brands but I am not a manufacturer. As a simple re-seller of existing goods, am I required to get this "LUCID" number?

Are there costs associated to it? Is it hard to obtain?

Thanks,

Audrey-Ann

Yes, you will definitely need a LUCID Number when you sell in Germany.

In most european countries you need a license for packaging waste. So you need a licencor. You find some on "verpackungslizenz24"(.de) And you need to register at verpackungsregister(.org) - that´s LUCID. The registration is for free - but you pay for the licence.

It is very similar in many european countries. If you enter "DIHK Verpackungen in Europa" on Google (I must not post the link here) you find a pdf with the EPR (Extended producer responsibility) requirements of all european countries.
