Request for System Update to Allow Editing of 'SizeName' Attribute Without Relisting

Hello fellow Amazon Sellers and Support Team,

I am an Amazon seller encountering a recurring issue related to the 'SizeName' attribute on our product listings. I wish to share this concern and propose a suggestion that could benefit us all.

Issue Faced:

When creating or updating products, specifically in the coffee beans and capsules category, the 'SizeName' I initially input is automatically altered by the backend system. For example, "100 Count (Pack of 1)" is changed to "100 count (Pack of 1)" and "1 kg (Pack of 6)" to "1.00 kg (Pack of 6)". This automated change creates inconsistencies and confusion on the product listings.

I've noticed similar patterns with other sellers' products too, indicating that this is a widespread issue. The inconsistency in size representation, such as the capitalization of 'Count' and the format of weight measurements, impacts the clarity and aesthetic of the product information.

Attempts to Resolve:

I've tried deleting and relisting the products after 24 hours, as advised by Seller Support, but the issue persists. Moreover, this process is not feasible for older ASINs with good sales volume, as it leads to a significant loss of sales and momentum.

Current System Functionality:

According to the responses from the Amazon Selling Partner Support Executive Escalation Department, the system is designed to normalize the 'SizeName' attribute based on internal rules. However, this leads to inconsistencies in the representation of sizes and counts, which are crucial for customer understanding and satisfaction.

Suggestion:

I propose a system update that allows sellers to edit the 'SizeName' attribute to conform to the new standard without needing to delete and relist products. This would preserve the sales momentum of existing ASINs and ensure consistency and clarity in product listings.

I have raised this issue multiple times through seller support, but the resolutions offered do not adequately address the problem. Hence, I am reaching out to the seller community and the support team for assistance and to share this suggestion.

I believe that implementing this change will not only benefit individual sellers but also enhance the overall customer experience on Amazon. I am eager to contribute positively to our platform and hope to see this suggestion considered for the betterment of all.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I am experiencing this exact same problem. Deleting and reupdating is not working, the SizeName is not being updated and I have one listing with various products (which shouldn't be grouped anyway) with different Size Names '4 Count (Pack of1', '4 count (Pack of 1)', '4-pack' which is reducing sales and no doubt causing confusion for buyers. If you don't find a solution or if there is anything I can do to support your cause, please let me know.

This is an issue I have been struggling with as well. There doesn't seem to be clear guidance on variation naming conventions anymore.

An example of the issue I am facing is a variation of a product containing a size and kit variation.

1 Litre

1 Litre Kit

5 Litre

5 Litre Kit

The kit simply has a spray bottle bundled with it. The system is now changing the 1 Litre and 5 Litre Kit to the same size attribute as the 1 Litre and 5 Litre on their own. Delete and re list doesn't seem to be taking. This variation does seem to be within the guidelines. Any ideas welcome!

It's a good idea to standardise how variations are displayed but its getting quite restrictive recently.

We've been having this issue too. Amazon will change a size value to something completely misleading.

Example:

The Sizes We Enter: 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm

What Amazon Shows: 1mm, 2mm, ONE SIZE, 4mm

I've battled with them about this for weeks. Customer service throws out one of three copy/paste answers every time. They've tried everything except trying to actually help solve it.

Unfortunately I have no working solutions (we've tried a lot) but hopefully this post gets more attention.
