Does anyone here use stamps still?
Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone still uses stamps with the new barcodes on? I send a lot of large letter post and was wondering if I stuck one or 2 stamps on the package, then got the tracking barcode once shipped and uploaded it to Amazon would this be valid for the VTR, does anyone know if you even can use multiple of the new stamps on the same parcel as it would essentially have multiple tracking barcodes?
Thanks in advance

I dont think the qr code on the stamp gives any tracking so it wouldnt work

Stamps barcodes aren’t really the same as a delivery confirmation (its basically just to stop you reusing them)
It doesn’t matter if the item has a code or not, but that code needs to be able to be used to get a delivery confirmation from Royal Mails tracking site

Scanning the QR Code on a Large Letter Stamp I have gives a very long code as follows
JGB S122310170310313800000096******01 49C3F1E892876C4801
(I have replaced some of the numbers with stars)
There maybe a delivery reference located in there but it is not obvious.
I think the QR Code on a stamp is just a unique code so Royal Mail can see if a stamp has been used or not so it prevents people reusing stamps.
It also validates if the stamp is genuine as well to stop counterfeiting. You only need to look on certain sites where cheap stamps are sold for ‘crafting purposes’ to see how big a problem counterfeit stamps are.
It is not really to be used as a delivery reference.

Wasnt it meant to be so you could look at videos or adverts or have I dreamt that?
