Variation listing reviews no longer collating!
Hi, I have a variation listing with about 200 reviews (rated a top seller in my category), as of this weekend the total review/rating count is no longer showing. Instead each child asin is showing the no. of reviews/ratings for that variation only. So instead of showing 200 reviews, my listing is showing;
small - 20
medium -70
large - 75
xlarge - 35
I spoke to seller support, they routed this to the FBA team, I got a response saying this is now Amazon policy, that for variation listings that they will no longer show the accumulated reviews under the parent. Can you anyone verify this, I have gone back to them asking them for this communication as I haven’t seen this. Also I noticed my competition are still showing the aggregated review count, hoping its a support agent not knowing what they’re taking about, or if it new then why isn’t it being applied to all asins.

Got this sorted in the end, after about 5 different attempts with seller central. Somehow the parent category had been changed from the child asins

Hey @FMFK_Store, glad you sorted your issue. I have one product with 4 sizes and 4 colours in each size. I am considering splitting my 16 variations into 4 separate listings (one for each colour, each with 4 size variations). I guess my reviews will also split if I do this. I’m wondering whether after a few weeks, if I decide to change it back, whether my reviews would then re-combine back to how it was before I changed anything. Do you have any idea based on what you ended up doing? TIA

Hi, in general variation listings are a nightmare especially when Amazon decides to change their back end catalogue. One thing for sure, all my future listings will not have variations if I can help it! Yes it will, but you may need seller support to refresh the Parent when you create the new Parent. It’s not a bad shout actually, will give your product more visibility as 4 separate listings. I guess the only issue will be, that the customer will need to search for the other colour variations but it may work for you. Give it a go test it out, if not you can revert.
