USPS losing everything shipped right now
USPS is losing more than they are delivering right now. I literally have 25 packages that never even made it out of my state right now, most from over two weeks ago.
I am getting at least one customer a day demanding a refund because they are upset that packages from March 18- March 22 hasnt even left my state. They are filing claims and honestly have every right to be mad.
I ship the day after ordered every time using Amazons shipping, and cannot even file a claim on anything because U-Pic's website is conveiantly not working. I am shipping stuff twice, getting paid once, and refunding what I did make. My business cannot keep this up long, and we aren't even in the busy season. I can't imagine summer.
My only solution is to use UPS through Piratehship, because I can't even file a claim, and Amazon removes everyones address and it's hard to even reship a 2nd package.
Had to vent because I'm losing my mind. There has to be others going through the same as I am. Looking for any solutions to help get through this. I have to be able to ship my products. The fact that the post office is getting paid twice for screwing up, irks me really bad. That doesn't happen in any other business. Anything out of my control never gets done right, by any company I'm forced to use. I do my job good, ship fast, and none of it matters if the people I use don't do their part.
The post office needs to fix this issue quickly as I can't go all summer double shipping every item and refunding half of my orders on top of the buyer eventually getting two items. U-pic needs to turn their site back on and actually allow me to use the insurance I paid for. That on top of everything else is unbeilavable.

So U-Pic finally responded to me and informed me that Amazon has closed the site down due to the post office giving $100 insurance on ground shipments. Why werent we told? What is the actual benefit of using Amazon shipping now? Sometimes it tacks on $5 to a shipment for no reason? I was told I have to file claims now through USPS. How do I do that when Amazon removes the customers address? USPS requires the address to file a claim. This is a complete nightmare. It's like I'm working a 2nd job. One making the money, and one trying to keep my money made to begin with. Without the addresses I can't even file a claim now. Customers are filing claims, very upset, and I ship the day after payment. Selling online gets harder and harder each year. I HAVE to be able to ship my products. This is crazy.

USPS recently got audited to performance issues and lost mail, late deliveries, it came out in the news.

If you are shipping on time with Amazon Buy Shipping, why are you refunding and/or shipping a replacement? Amazon's Buy Shipping guarantee covers you.

They do lose a lot of our packages. We keep track. So far this year they have lost about 31 packages. We ship about 40 a day. All I can think is I am only one small company. They must lose so much. And to top it off, we can't get our original shipping cost back. I've spoken with pretty much everyone high up over there and they don't care.

I had a day 2 weeks ago where USPS literally lost all 12 orders I shipped out. How?! I spoke to my local USPS and they said it was the normal pickup driver and my stuff when in the normal bins/bags at pickup. It basically left here and then vanished. Never got scanned at the local distribution center, and hasn't been seen anywhere in the system since. One order was going to an address less than 2 hours from me. After 5 days I reshipped those lost orders. It's been 2 weeks and none of the originals have ever shown up anywhere. It seems absurd that we PAY for a service and they just vanish our stuff with no trace.
Overall USPS service has been the slowest I've seen since the beginning of covid where they had hundreds of trucks backed up at every distribution center. Anything shipped within my state should be there inside 3 days when I can ship to california (im in missouri) and get it there in the same exact time frame. But it's not. I shipped an order 2 hours from me this monday that still hasn't been delivered ON FRIDAY. It's insane. I shipped stuff on MONDAY to California that was delivered on Wednesday.

We've been shipping through ShipStation for years up until about 3 weeks ago, when we began buying shipping through Amazon.
We too ship out all orders the next day and mostly via USPS. Sellers who ship lightweight, lower dollar items are getting squeezed from all directions.
USPS on time delivery rate has gotten so ridiculously bad and our refunds have gone through the roof too, especially in the past few months. To add insult to injury, we recently got a letter via certified mail from USPS HQ Assurance along with a color photo of an item we had shipped that exceeded their threshold for the mail service we had selected by 4 inches. We paid for the correct package weight but the length of the package was off by 4 inches and so we were told we shorted them by $4. We were warned if this keeps happening, we could be fined up to $10,000 per occurrence. They somehow have time to send us a color photo and a carefully crafted letter via Certified Mail but they can't seem to get the shipments we've paid them for delivered in a timely manner and they lose them altogether in many cases.
Where else can you pay for something and get nothing in return and with no recourse? USPS is accountable to no one and in our experience, they don't seem to care that your items are not arriving on time.
As a result, we have now shifted 1/3rd of our entire business model over to UPS and we are working on shifting the other 2/3rds as fast as humanly possible.
Secondly, we've had no choice but to abandon ShipStation and begin buying postage from Amazon to hopefully slow down the rate of refunds and A-Z claims.
I hope this helps.
