Have a look at Home Protect they cover non standard insurance and I have used them for a while to cover my house insurance whilst running an online business.

As one who has had a fire which lost both the house and stock it is important that you make your insurer aware of the stock held at your premises even if you are not asking them to insure your stock.
Anything that increases the risk the insurer must be made aware of.
It is unwise to keep cans of petrol on the premises as with some policies this automatically invalidates your insurance.

I use a company called https://www.pib-insurance.com/news/ra-insurance-rebrand who are a broker. I store my goods in an outhouse at my home address. I’ve never had to claim so don’t know if there would be any issue but they are given full details of the fact the goods are at home and housed in an outbuilding.

You need public liability insurance also, so you could look at a combined commercial insurance. We use Direct Line currently. Very low cost for peace of mind.
