Amazon rejecting IP even with valid invoices and evidence?
Hi,
I'm sure someone has had the same issue. I was selling a legitimate product from a retailer, and someone complained about authenticity and Amazon has of course sided with them.
I have since provided EVERYTHING they have asked for, and they're still rejecting it & my account health has taken a small hit. I phoned them up complaining about it and they couldn't give me a valid reason as to why they rejected it and suggested I contact another supplier, even tho the company I have purchased from are a massive legit website, with legit products etc.
What more can I do? I feel sellers get treated horrendously on this platform.
Kindest regards,
James

A retailer isn't a valid supply chain for selling on Amazon, so Amazon will generally reject receipts / invoices from retailers. They do sometimes get accepted though.

Using a legitimate wholesale supplier/distributor is a way forward to help fight these type of complaints in the future. However it will probably not help you fight this complaint as Amazon normally want to see invoices dated before the complaint was raised.
There are many reasons why a customer may think a product is inauthentic. These can be down to differences in packaging, taking items out of the packaging to reduce postage costs, different version of the product etc.
I no doubt your product is legit but if you brought it from a retailer Amazon are unlikely to allow these receipts. Also I have found out from recent experience once you have submitted documents if you submit the same ones again then they just reject them even if they are valid.

Hello James,
Thank you for posting.
What type of infringement was mentioned in the notification you received?
Kind regards,
Julia.

Not sure if its just your use of the english langauge but you state "legit retailer" as mentioned above your purchases need to come from a wholesaler unless you want to sell them as used as new. Post up the website you bought them from and one of the knowledgable peeps on here will give it a look and say wether its a retailer or wholesaler.
Again as stated above if its a retailer your receipts and the item may appear legit to you but dont to A mazon and thus they will uphold the IP claim. Something that the many utubers fail to mention with their get rich quick videos.
If however they are bought from a wholesaler and Amazon are rejecting the invoices the other point to check will be the ASIN that you are selling them under. In many cases the creaters of these have used an incorrect brand name for the product (their own branding) to get multipackets listed if you have piggy backed on one of these it may be that your invoices dont/wont tie in with the brand name on the asin. Some less scrupulous brand owners will report you for ip infringement as they know amazon will shut you down from selling that product on that asin.
