FBA Prep - Can i use elastic/rubber bands?

I have an item that is folded up. Instead of taping it together, could i use elastic bands?

The issue with elastic bands is that they can easily come of and often when old, they’ll snap

The warehouse staff may also see them as temporary bundling and take the bands off
