Holiday season sending tips for Amazon Freight shipments

As the holidays approach, a smooth process to send your Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) shipments is critical and Amazon Freight can help you prepare for the busy holiday season from the end of November through January 4, 2025.

Amazon Freight provides you with Amazon-partnered carriers to pick up less-than-truckload and full-truckload send shipments to help you decrease the time and cost it takes to send your inventory to select fulfilment centres.

Here are some expert tips to make sure your inventory gets to fulfilment centres on time during the busy holiday period:

  • Verify the bill of lading (BOL): Check that your BOL details match what you've entered into our system before you ship to avoid delays.
  • Meet the shipment window requirements: We have strict guidelines to determine when shipments must arrive at our fulfilment centres. Missing your delivery window, even by a day, can result in chargebacks.
  • Provide advance notice about changes: If you need to cancel or reschedule a shipment, notify us as early as possible to minimise the operational impact. Contact your account manager if you have any questions.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labelling: Inspect every pallet and parcel before shipping to be certain they meet our requirements to ensure your shipment is accepted at the fulfilment centre.

A shipment that does not meet packaging and labelling requirements may result in a shipment rejection during pickup or at the fulfilment centre, a partial or “item-level” rejection and a notification to remediate packaging or labelling of the rejected items or pallets. A noncompliance fee or send shipment fee may be imposed for a shipment rejection.
