They will have done it to either test if you do returnless refunds or to force a free return label. Considering it shouldn’t even have arrived at time of writing this post, I reckon the former.
So provided they actually return it you’ll be charged for the return label anyway, but refund at first scan won’t deduct any label costs.
Once you get the order returned, you need to take photos of the returned label and item, and provide evidence a return was opened for late delivery BEFORE it was actually supposed to be delivered and open a Safe-T claim for the cost of the return label.

I get these quite often now, sometimes within hours of them ordering. Cheap people looking for free items and no doubt getting them. I often see them in the post office returning as many items as they can carry, often still in their pajamas. No doubt ordering loads of items, some will arrive late, so they are free, some they will get returnless refunds for, so again free and many won't be scanned so even more freebies. Then I assume they just return anything that isn't free It's a great gig if you have the hard face for it!

Buyer hasnt returned the order. Why has the system allowed the return to stay open when the return hasnt been made in accordance with the estimate time or return arrival?
