How to Manage Holiday Settings

Customize your operation schedule and capability with the Holiday Settings widget in Seller Central. Seller Central contains a set of predefined public holidays. When estimating shipping date and delivery date, public holidays do not count as operating days. Therefore, if an estimated shipping date or delivery date falls on a public holiday, Holiday Settings will push the shipping or delivery date to the next operating day.

How to override public holidays in Seller Central:

  1. In Seller Central, go to Settings > Shipping Settings.
  2. Click Edit on Holidays widget.
  3. See a list of predefined public holidays. Select the holidays you want to override and count as operating days by clicking the corresponding check boxes.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Return back to the Shipping Settings page. The holidays you have overridden are tagged as Set as Operating Day.

For offers associated with the manual shipping template, as long as a seller overrides a holiday to an operating day, that day counts as an operating day available for handling. For offers associated with the automation template, when a seller overrides a holiday to an operating day, and the day is an operating day for the shipping service that seller selected, then the day will count as an operating day for the estimated shipping day calculation.

When a holiday falls on a weekend and the seller overrides the holiday to an operating day through the “Holiday Settings” widget, that day counts as an operating day, regardless of seller’s weekend operation settings.

Let me know if you have any questions or tips and tricks for making it through the holiday season!
