Orders stuck in Pending
Pending orders aren’t clearing. We have had one for 20 hours now and it is all over FB that others are getting them for the first time and are stuck there for days at a time. There was a problem last week with people not being able to place orders, confirmed by Amazon, is this another glitch? We have had our quietest weekend, this is our only order, despite spending over £100 on an advertising campaign in the past week. We had a listing taken down, despite no complaint to us, for 'Used, sold as New; for an item that was impossible to be used and it is personalised in 3 places, including sealed inside and have been trying to climb back up to where we were before it took a week to sort out. Amazon isn’t working the way it was before all these improvements.

We see pending orders (not in your category admittedly) for up to 14 days before they Auto Cancel. We quite often see an order 7 days old paid for, which is OK for goods where you have lots, but handmade may well be an issue. I have asked Amazon to cancel after 7 days which they did do, was for 100 pcs though, probably a fake order.
Mostly pending orders are where card payments have failed and need re-doing by the buyer (Expired etc)

We do get pending orders but they normally clear once the customer has been made aware that there is an issue on their card and rectify it. There is a glut of them throughout Handmade. A lot of them from first timers and more than one at a time. Seems strange that we are all getting them and they are sitting there for a long time and not being resolved. Have taken off most of our advertising campaigns now until I know for sure.

Orders in pending status indicate an issue with the customer’s payment method/card. Those orders are not in a shippable status because they have not been confirmed and should not be shipped, even if the buyer contacts you directly.
Pending orders cannot be cancelled manually by a seller or by Amazon. A pending order can take up to 12 days prior to be being automatically cancelled by the system. I appreciate this means your inventory is affected but the reason for the time frame is that the system is doing a credit card check and then if unsuccessful, the system will re-try again at different intervals - thus allowing the buyer to update their card, clear a balance and/or edit their details.

It is the amount that we all have in pending at the moment and the fact that nobody has any orders that are coming through. I have just had an email confirming that there has been a technical issue even though I got one this morning saying that there wasn’t. So many people raised cases today on both sides of the Atlantic that there had to be something wrong. Within 20 minute of me raising a case an order came straight through without even sitting in pending and a seller in US had the same thing happen

This is still happening. We now have had another order sitting in pending for hours on end and it is FBA. I have added more advertising campaigns at high cost and would have expected orders for our best selling 5 star item but nothing is happening at all apart from spending a small fortune. We have only ever had 2 orders pending in the previous 12 months for longer than about 35 mins. Seems funny that others are complaining about the same thing and we get 2 in a matter of days with all of our normal amount of orders being non existent.

Thank you. This is our first FBA shipment to try to kickstart orders again. Ironic that we now have ‘Best Seller’ on our best selling item and can’t get a sale on it despite now spending over £30 a day trying to get it seen. I raised a case the other day and got an order for it within 20 minutes that didn’t even go into pending but came straight through and nothing again since. They did admit to a glitch the previous time I complained but nothing this time.
