Questions re FBA prep and shipping for boxed toothpaste
We’re hoping to sell one item we stock via FBA as we have particularly high volumes of, but Seller support aren’t being the best at answering our questions properly or clearly so I was hoping we might find some clarification here.
The ASIN in question is B01F7WW6IO. Our two main questions are regarding whether or not the item will need prep (in terms of bagging etc) and how we send the items to Amazon.
The FBA dashboard suggests that they would need bagging but looking elsewhere some people are saying that this wouldn’t be necessary for a boxed toothpaste – obviously we don’t want to spend the time and effort bagging these (or paying the fee for Amazon to do so) if it’s not necessary. Does anybody know for certain whether this product will need it (or where we can find out if it does)?
Secondly in regards to how we ship the items to Amazon; they are intended to be sold as individual units, but come in case quantities of twelve units. Furthermore within these case quantities, the units are shrink-wrapped as two bundles of six. To ship them to Amazon, would we need to open and unwrap these and send them to Amazon as loose units, or would we be able to send them a number of unopened cases in a larger shipping container?
Most responses I’ve had from Amazon have been vague, generic copypasted responses, so hopefully somebody here will be able to provide clarification.

You shouldn't need to bag toothpaste. I have sold various brands over the years without doing so.
However, if when creating the shipment it requires you to do so, then you don't have any choice about it. You can argue the toss with support, but that will more than likely take weeks to get sorted out, if not longer.
As regards packaging etc, you should just be able to send in, as they are packaged.
But, if you are using comingled inventory, and they are packed in six packs in the boxes, then be prepared for mistakes on Amazon's part. It is quite likely that they will receive them as a pack, rather than individual units. I would advise that at a minimum, you remove the wrapping on these.
If however you are labelling, then you will have no choice but to label each individual unit anyway.
