Changing image of my listing

Hi there everyone, I created a listing a few years ago before amazon brand registry existed and i was selling the product casually to test the demand of the product. Now I want to try and take this business to the next level and I wanted to change the main image of my listing, I uploaded new images on manage inventory but the image did not reflect in display page after 48 hours. I contacted Amazon and provided original packaging of product, however amazon are not letting me change the image. They gave me two very different reason, the first reason was that image has already been updated, even though it didn’t and then when i challenged them on this, they are now saying “the images you have requested updates on has already been claimed by another representative of the brand the ASIN is currently listed under”. I created the listing and i created this “brand”, although i am not brand registered as i am waiting for trademarks, I am the only seller, i have checked using other software if there were any other sellers previously and i didnt see anyone other than a seller that came on my listing briefly and quickly left about 2 years ago. Whoever that person was had no right to sell this product, but in any case, the reason amazon are giving does not make sense. Can anyone help me with regards to this issue.

Sometimes you need to upload more Images for the changes to happen.

For example if your listing has 3 Images currently uploading 6 new Images may get them to take.

It is worth trying. Even if you don’t have control of the listing then this will often work.

Quick Tip: Detail pages – Suggesting changes to detail pages - Quick Tips - Amazon Seller Forums. Jessica suggests sending SS evidence that the page detail is wrong or needs updating.

I found that sometimes they take but only on the little image on the manage orders page and inv. not on the actual listing.

Even uploading the same image multiple times has worked for me (advise given by SS!)

(so you end up with 4 photos, all the same)

will this issue always be there so long as i am not brand registered, the listing technically does not belong to me

I keep getting the same message from them “the images you have requested updates on has already been claimed by another rep…” whereas I am the registered brand representative for the brand and there’s nobody else down as one. It’s so annoying! I tried to do add the image through flat file too but still it won’t reflect the listing. I don’t understand.

I am able to change every other part of the listing but just not the images. So so so annoying.

Good luck as it seems hit and miss. It all depends on the seller support person you get. I am trying to change hundreds of pictures - some are over 10 years old and sometimes it takes about 6 queries and sometimes just one. I’m trying to change one of our previous top sellers (an instant coffee) that was hijacked and drug references pasted all over it, and the brand and manufacturer changed. After a few months of back and forth with SS, I’ve managed to get the item taken off the danger list and reinstated, but still with incorrect brand, manufacturer and incorrect image. I was told they cleared the cache and to try 24-48 hrs before uploading the correct image, but still not working. SS don’t tend to read the query or wish to understand, so just cut and paste. I’ve had step by step solutions that no longer exist. If you want to change the image, don’t give up - ask to escalate to the catalogue team (not sure if they actually exist)

Upload your images into the offer page and then they will be visible to the customer along side your description.

Ive had trouble before getting an image updated.

I had success by NOT using Manage Inventory. Instead goto Catalogue - Upload Images

Then use either Image Manager or Bulk Upload Images

Dont ask me why but it worked for me.
