restrictions on used book sales

I am listing a retired history teacher's book collection or sale but for the two titles I started with I received a message that I must apply for 'brand approval'. I assume this is to check that I am not a dodgy seller palming off pirated copies, so I went through the usual procedure which has never been a problem in the past. However I received a request for a recent receipt for at least 10 copies of the book/brand from the distributor! Surely this is a nonsense? I have been selling books online for 15 years plus! Doesn't Amazon know the second-hand book market is growing faster than the new books market? I am happy to sell just through AbeBooks but students in the UK expect to be able to buy these books through Amazon! I believe this restraint of trade is actually illegal in the UK, but assume it is another 'inadvertent' error by Amazon's techies.

I agree a lot of this nonsense for 2nd hand books

I was recently given a few books by an Author who had a clear out

We have two ere Cambridge University press books which required approval

I'm a CUP account holder so that went Ok also recent months Wiley

they come through OK. I been in books 55 years and selling online since 2006 yes Amazon getting more annoying and coming up with things with are not relevant like Is the printed book you listing store Electronic data !!!!

Several have found the Published price box troublesome when the book in their hands has £1.00 on the wrapper and was published by a publisher who went of business in 1970s Also converting of 9 and then 10 digit Isbn format into the current 13 digit format.
