How to add EU Responsible Person?

We have just appointed our EU Responsible Person

Can anyone tell us how to add the information to our store or ASIN's?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Seller_hjC1f9DWeqg5C and @Seller_Nx3Da5XPngGEm, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

For listings on Amazon UK-based store, which includes Northern Ireland, you don’t need to submit any information to Amazon.

You must, however, submit the required information for listings on Amazon EU-based stores, including Ireland store.

Note that it isn’t possible to exclude Northern Ireland from Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) shipments. FBA shipments for the UK store cover all countries of the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland.

Cheers, Ezra

I wonder if they mean it's for new products manufactured more recently... it's unclear if already existing products need to have an EU rep. I am still waiting for Royal Mail to let me know if we need to take any action because of this. No one seems to have a straight answer. Also, if we still need an EU rep for products made before December, is this enough to fully comply? I am not sure.

Let's say we ship second hand or old books abroad for example or whether a "rep" is needed for these, I am not sure if we'd need to do anything differently. It's all very unclear at the moment.

Our EU Rep did not distinguish between "old" products and "new" products to the market, we got all our products covered.

My reading of GPSR is that it applies principally or solely to products that might pose risks to the health and safety of consumers when used under reasonably foreseeable conditions. Printed books and most physical media items such as CDs and DVDs do not pose any kind of safety risk to consumers when used under reasonably foreseeable conditions.

I do not believe for one single moment that traders selling such items on Amazon will face fines for breaching GPSR e.g. for not having a 'responsible person' based in the EU or Northern Ireland: that would be completely bonkers and totally out of line with the stated aims of GPSR, which are entirely to do with product safety.

It is not the fines from the EU people should be worried about, but account suspension for breaching Amazon policies or the law in general.

I'd like to hope you're right, but i'm not so sure and others don't seem to be convinced either.

Just to be clear, if I want to send FBM items to Northern Ireland. Do I have to submit the GPSR details on the Rep of Ireland marketplace, or carry on as usual?

There isn't any amazon policy against GPSR on the UK store though. In fact, the opposite.

Well if you are selling to Northern Ireland from the Republic of Ireland - once the ROI store is actually live, then yes, GPSR would apply.

GPSR does also apply on amazon UK if selling to Northern Ireland - just amazon state you don't have to provide any information.

Indeed, the 'reading' of GPSR by cotswold_books_vide1 is less a reading, and more of a gamble on if the policy can be policed by the EU.

They could very well be correct - but its still a gambe.

You don't have to provide any information until they do some sort of verification check on your account? Then you will need to do the upload documents saga. I suppose it is the only way Amazon can comply....the MS-DOS site won't change lol.

In the UK, on the UK site, amazon firmly believe that GPSR simply does not apply.
