Why am I being asked for this information at this time- verification?
Notices like this really trigger me.- I have been selling on Amazon for 18 years, and went through a full verification process a couple of years ago. I assumed my account was verified, and all going smoothly. Why am I being asked for this information? Panic and confusion!

[Action Required] Information needed for your Selling on Amazon payment account
Hello,
We are contacting you as we need some additional documents to continue with your account verification.
What happens if I do not send the required documents?
You have a total of 60 days from the day we first contacted you to provide all documentation or information requested to complete the verification. The time that Amazon takes in reviewing and validating the information or documentation provided will not be counted against the 60 days threshold you are given. Failure to provide this on time will lead to your disbursements being disallowed until verification has been completed.
If it has been more than 60 days since we first contacted you, your disbursements may have already been disallowed and will remain temporarily deactivated until the requested information or documentation has been provided and your account has been verified.
Why is this happening?
We need some additional documents to continue with your account verification.
What type of document do I need to provide?
Business verification documents:
-- One of the following documents issued by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) within the last year:
- Class 2 National Insurance Contributions (NICs) Bill
- Online VAT Certificate
- Self-Assessment notice to complete a tax return
- Letter confirming your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number
- Self Assessment Statement
- Short Tax Return.
If you are unable to provide any of these documents, you can request a Confirmation of Unique Taxpayer Reference letter by calling HMRC and asking for the "Self-Assessment Department". The letter may take two weeks to arrive by mail.
How do I resolve this situation?
Ensure that the document meets the following criteria:
-- The document must not be a screenshot.
The document must be in one of our supported languages. The supported languages are English, Chinese, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, French, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese. If the original document is not in a supported language, please provide a copy of both the original document and a certified translation.

Usually, I think, it's when you reach a £ threshold. At least for me it was. Seen it mentioned on a post ages ago. Might be you've hit a milestone.
And yes, very inconvenient timing. But shouldn't stop you from selling, just getting funds out. My UTR letter only took 3 days though.

I would not worry about the reasoning behind this, not something you are likely to get to the bottom of, I would just send them one of the documents as quickly as you can and all should be fine.

Thanks for that. I have requested a copy in letter form of my UTR, HMRC were really helpful will post out today-, they also explained how I could access other documents via my HMRC portal.
Having gone through full verification 5 or 6 years ago I remember it being a PITA, but I was changing address and bank account at the time also.

I had to do this earlier this year - also been on here over 17 years. Send them one of the documents they are asking for and am sure you'll be OK, but is is very concerning, I agree.
