Hi there

My account has been deactivated for the following reasons:

To reactivate your account, submit the following information:

  1. Confirmation of the country of establishment of your business - this is the country in which your legal entity is incorporated or you are resident if you are a private individual;

  2. An explanation of why the country of your Merchant Business Address does not, or has not, reflected your country of establishment.

I’m very confused because my country of establishment is the UK and my address is in the UK. Has anyone else experienced something similar? I’ve sent Amazon copies of my company registration, EORI number and trademark registration and I’m waiting on feedback.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you are a ltd company, does the information for the company and all directors match what Amazon holds?

So there is a problem with updating the country of registration when transferring an account. All sellers affected by this performance notification follow the same pattern. Change of legal entity in the past and/or change of country in the past.

One thing is for sure, this technical problem was known in 2021 as we were confronted with it during a KYC check.

The country of registration on the KYC page was “X” while the verification service saw it as “Y”. We had to send them a screenshot of the KYC page to prove that there was a technical error.

Could you confirm us if the steps mentioned in the email were correctly followed? If yes, then would suggest that you keep monitoring your email to not miss on any important updates.

The following information will help you to select the correct legal entity:

– Individual: You must only choose this legal entity if you do not sell for profit. Individual sellers may list unwanted personal items, such as old DVDs or books.
– UK Sole Proprietor: This legal entity is for any commercial individual who sells for profit. A Sole Proprietorship is registered with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). There is no legal distinction between the owner and the business.
– State-owned: A business that is either wholly or partially owned and operated by a government.
– Publicly-listed: A business with shares listed on a stock exchange for public trading.
– Privately-owned (such as Limited, Partnership, International Sole Proprietor): A business controlled and operated by private individuals.
– Charity: Incorporated or non-incorporated tax-exempt body.

These documents must be authentic and unaltered, and the name and address on the document must match the name and address you provided during registration.
