Why has Amazon suspended my account for no apparent reason?

So I took over my Amazon account a year ago for my best-selling A to Z of almost Everything (ninth edition) and on February 4th my account was suspended pending verification as to who I am. Well I am the author/publisher Trevor Montague and this book is a million seller so why was this done? I uploaded 17 documents including my self assessment details (no paper trail), passport, driving licence, utilities, and even my bus pass but to no avail. There is no one to talk to at Amazon despite every message I send requesting a callback. I have never even received a personalised email reply (what happened to the account manager I was promised when I joined). I have been selling the £45 for £19.99 which is cost price after Amazon take their cut to do my bit during a recession. I have never had a single blank day of sales but since 4 Feb not only have i made no Amazon sales due to this ludicrous suspension but someone has usurped my page and is selling my book for £33 against my wishes. Amazon messaged requesting a letter from HMRC with my UTR displayed (although I sent them this information with my name and address and UTR with HMRC crown logo clearly displayed). I drove to HMRC on 15 February as they don't appear to answer their phone anymore (world has gone mad) and I uploaded the required letter but as at Monday 26 February my account remains suspended. When I ask why the automated message says pending verification. It clearly says during verification you are still able to sell but your disbursements will be held back, so why wasn't that rule followed? wouldn't that make sense. Amazon even have the chutzpah to still take £30 from my account every week during this unnecessary and ridiculous suspension. Is there a way I can speak to someone at Amazon?

Hello A_to_Z_of_almost_Eve,

A little while ago it was suggested that only PDF documents were acceptable., and they had to be between 500Kb and 10Mb in size or they were automaically invalid

I have been unable to get a confirmation of this from Amazon, or any guidance as to the upload format requirements but hope this helps...

All Best

Brian

Quote ".. still take £30 from my account every week"

Firstly it is not every week, but monthly. You obviously signed up to the professional selling plan, but you can downgrade to the individual plan where you pay an extra 90p per sale rather than a monthly fee. Go to Account Info (cog wheel) - Manage your services - Sell on Amazon - click on individual button rather than professional and save change. You will not be charged anymore.

As for the suspended account, they do not suspend for no reason, you must have received an initial email giving the reason. Is it posibly the recent issue where we have had to prove our country of establishment, and they have asked you for various documents, and payments on hold ?

There is obviously some document that.they either need or you have maybe confused the issue by sending in docs that they haven't actually asked for (eg. bus pass !). All their verification is done by bots and so you need to only send what they ask for.

Hello

Thank you for posting on Forums!

This is Sarah from Amazon and I'm happy to assist you.

I would like to thank @Seller_ZVAz3d5lZuGid and @Seller_19xPhE8YgkmxW for sharing their insights.

You should have received a communication from our partner team on February 27, stating that all restrictions have been removed from your account.

Can you please confirm that there are no remaining issues or limitations?

Regards,

Sarah.
