Has anyone else noted that UPS rate on Amazon is 30% higher than Shipstation?
Amazon's buy shipping often does not function, so we are forced to maintain a Shipstation account to ship packages Amazon's ship program does not like we recently noticed that the prices of UPS shipments had exploded so I checked and the Amazon price for UPS was 30% higher than the same package to the same address on the same day as Shipstation seems like one more way Amazon is taking advantage of sellers? I wonder how many days of rate distortion it takes for Amazon to make another billion off the backs of tiny sellers.

I've posted about this dozens of times over the past several years. I am always met with the "But I don't have Amazon Buy Shipping protection when I do that."
I use Stamps/Dazzle/Endicia and always beat Amazon on UPS rates.
Yes, you lose some protection that MIGHT actually protect you-- search for all the posts about it being DENIED for some reason even when the sellers did everything 'correctly.'
It's just another choice sellers have to make. Weigh the value of some theoretical protection that MIGHT work versus cash in your bank account.

Amazon needs to make their 30% cut. You do realize Amazon finds a way to make money off of every transaction even returns.

Oh look, another Amazon revenue stream...

Thats because Amazon is making a profit on everyones shipping as well.

They are marking it up and reselling it to you. Get a record of your volume, call UPS, tell them you want a rep and negotiate rates. You'll do better than both Shipstation and Amazon if your volume justifies it. Once you have your own UPS account, link it in Amazon buy shipping settings so you can get the INR protections and better rates.
Unless you're my competitor, then just keep doing what you're doing.

How do you access the lower rates? Are they the same as the legacy discounted rates for PayPal users who use PayPal's ShipStation integration? Or do you need a new, standalone ShipStation account?

Absolutely. If your custom rates weren't showing, you might need to talk to the UPS technology team to flip a switch from published to negotiated rates.

If you have a UPS account with negotiated rates, you can connect it with your Amazon account. It is a significant savings for me.

That is amazon making money 15% to sell 30% to ship there is a reason they have a multi billion dollar company

We have switched to Veeqo. Yes, it is owned by Amazon but gives us the better rate with the OTDR protection that we need and want.
