Hello Indy_Amazon,

I know that there is no point in my replying, as my listing problem has been raised many times on this Forum, and, despite promises, no Moderator has been able to do anything about the 10 invoices requirement for new books that prevents the listing of 1 used item that is decades old...

Thanks for deleting my post with a long list of listing issues. I fail to see why it was deleted as all the points were fair and valid - and stuck to your "Share your experience" points. I guess proper sharing is not encouraged then and this topic is just for show. Bye!

Basically everything. I will never understand why I can't make any changes, after others changed brands and everything and there is nothing I can do apart from not selling the product on Amazon. No, I know for a fact they are not the brand owners and no sane brand owner would change the correct brand into XFFHJTR or whatever.

Report Abuse doesn't work as I get an email within seconds telling me that after an investigation, they decided there was no violation.

I rarely list new products on Amazon these days, not worth the trouble.

I would like to know why Amazon seems to have abandoned the ISBN as the most authoritative means of identifying and verifying books published in the last fifty years.

The book catalogue has been flooded with redundant duplicate ASINs of already existent ISBNs. These duplicates have mostly been created by so-called bookjackers or 'phantom dropshippers' in order to manipulate the catalogue to their advantage. This has made it almost impossible for legitimate ISBNs for older and out-of-print titles to gain visiblity in search results.

It also makes it very difficult to correct errors even in books listed under correct ISBNs because Amazon no longer appears to recognise established authorities (such as the British Library) when verifying book details. Book publishers (or 'brand owners' in current Amazon terminology) are notorious for not maintaining details of out-of-print titles and cannot always be relied on for proof when it comes to correcting errors.

Your system is so incredibly slow.

To list a new product on our own site or ebay takes me about 1 minute. With Amazon, it takes me over 10 minutes just to get the file uploaded, which can then take another 20-40 minutes before the upload is accepted (which may throw errors needing me to resubmit the feed), then it can take another 20 minutes before the individual ASINs show up in my inventory manager which, once they do, then takes me 20 more minutes to go into each one and add in the final details and the images.

It's a joke. There are times I'm just sitting there, waiting 45 seconds for the page to unfreeze or process that I've clicked in a box.

1) the appalling state of the book catalogues, with all the spurious duplication of ISBNs by book-jackers

2) the impossibility of getting even basic errors (even something as simple as a typo) corrected withpout juming through impossible hoops: invoices for 10 units - of a used book, for goodness sake!
