Awaiting Deactivation due to odd verification issue

Hi there,

During the on going KYC issues, the verification was going well until we heard from the KYC team that the details of our business in seller central did not match those on the public record.

Worried by this, and having been a Ltd Co seller since 2018 (ie having been verified during account set up, as a Limited Co and trading happily ever since), I checked our business details on SC and, wait for it......our VAT number has been inserted as our company number.

How this happened goodness knows. It could have been me during set up. However, the VAT number doesn't even match any company number (if you search it on Companies House) so quite how we have existed on the platform I really don't know, because the data in that field is meaningless.

The advice I am seeking is how we can get this changed. I can't do it, as the Co. number box is greyed out. I am going round in circles with SS, and have emailed the KYC team.

I have about 40 days since the original performance notification pertaining to 'unmet requirements' and can disburse presently. We are selling in the EU also and fully up to date with all statutory tax matters and so on.

I am very worried that we are going to be deactivated in the next 40 days.

Any advice on this would be welcome.

You need to reach out to seller support requesting that they make the edit option available to you.

One you will update company details, you will go through re-verification on Amazon, that is DIFFERENT to the kyc-drtax that you are now referring to.

During all that, they will not allow you to access any money, so keep that in mind, try not to get emotional in communication with Amazon as this only will distract them from getting your verification done.

Don't try to untangle the reason for that error, it will not solve anything and Amazon will NOT accept the blame for it regardless. Focus on getting your account details in order instead.

i am glad you have got your issue sorted. I was asked to add my company number this morning, but the only way i can add it seems to be is to pretend I am transferring my account to someone else, and update all the details then, which seems crazy and it says my listings will be suspended as well.

I can't add the number to the box either, I've asked SS and kyc for help, but have heard nothing back yet. Hopefully my issue will get sorted as easily. Then maybe I can actually get some of my money disbursed as promised nearly 2 weeks ago
