I keep getting the below e-mail. I am not a business I am inidividual its the same on the USA market place and it was verified well

We are contacting you as we are unable to validate the status of the signatory of the letter of authorization as a legal representative of the business, due to the reasons listed below.

Why is this happening?

The document letter of authorization you provided did not confirm that the signatory of the letter of authorization ****** registered in Seller Central is a legal representative of the business.

What type of document do I need to provide?

To proceed with your account verification, please provide one of the following:

-- An official business document that clearly shows that the signatory of the letter of authorization is either a Legal Representative, Director or Beneficial Owner of the business.

Ensure that the document provided meets all the requirements and that the information in the document matches the information in your Seller Central account.

I am not a business

I am sorry, but if you have several thousand $$ of inventory then of course you are a business !! You may not be a ltd company, but if you are buying goods to sell on for profit then you are a business, even if you are a sole-trader (ie. just you as an individual person).

Cannot help with USA requirements, but you do need to have a BUSINESS seller account on Amazon.

You say you are not a business but then say that you have signed up for the UK marketplace to expand your business! This very much sounds like you do need to change your account to that of business seller. How is your business for the US market set up? Is your company a Ltd or are you a sole trader? Are you planning on storing inventory in the UK as well as US? Where are you resident?

You may need to contact seller support to open up the ability to change your business information. You will need a UTR from HMRC if you are a sole trader in the UK and if you are non resident to the UK but planning on storing goods in FBA you will also need to have a UK VAT number.

You are stuck between a rock and a hardplace!

If you are not resident in the UK, then you will need to.

a) register with HMRC for VAT.

b) register with HMRC as a sole trader and get a U.T.R (unique tax payers reference)

amazon has no limits - from day 1, if you are not UK resident you will be liable to register for taxes and VAT.

Hope that helps.

As others have stated you are clearly a business, your previous thread from 3 moths ago also confirmed this on the US forum when you asked for help as you had similar problem then, you said you were registering as an individual LLC, that clearly is a business, and you must accept you are a business and set up everything as such.

As soon as you purchase a single item, and sell it on for a profit then you are trading as a business, especially so in the UK as there is no limit with HMRC (our local tax office) for oversea's sellers, not only that you also must have to pay VAT (sales tax) on all sales from day 1, if you don't Amazon will catch up with you, suspend the account and confiscate funds to pay your UK liabilities, so you really need to take this seriously if you want to trade here.

As well as all the advice above, I believe to sell on a non-domestic site on Amazon requires a business account.

You can only sell your own personal possessions as an individual on your own domestic site AND only in certain categories as you can only sell Used goods (not New)

From your user name Spices_From_Ceylon if you are selling spices then this will require a business account on all sites (even your own domestic) as food category is gated only to business sellers.
