Refund question
Hi All
Please can someone clarify this. I recall sometime ago that Amazon introduced "refund at first scan" & it's my understanding that as soon as the item gets a return scan that the buyer gets the money back straight away.
Recently I have noticed a few that say AUTO AUTHORISED & PRIOR REFUND APPLIED which appear in green boxes on the left of the screen. Whilst on the right several options including ISSUE REFUND if your'e planning on having the item returned wait until you receive the item back before refunding?
Confused I know Amazon has a habit of contradicting itself but can someone please explain, are there "Refunds at first scan & other refunds that rely on seller intervention?
Regards

most should be refund at first scan but in some instances this can fail even if the customer has returned th me item. In those cases, the old system applies and you would need to check the returned goods on delivery and process an appropriate refund within two working days.

"refund at first scan"
I wish if Amazon want this feature, to always then action such. At least that means a Safe-T Claim can be raised, so Amazon pay when a Buyer cannot be bothered to ensure returned as new.
If you manually refund, ensure you wait until received back, as you cannot claim any issues.
If a Prime order, update the Buyer to contact Amazon CS, if not as new, and 1st scan not done, that way you can claim from Amazon. If as new though, you might as well just refund in full (minus any postage label).
If not Prime, then best to part refund if not as new, then, at least you may be covered. But often bad feedback may apply.
