Clarification Needed Regarding Separate KDP Account for Spouse
Hello everyone
I currently have an active Amazon Seller Central account through which I sell health and beauty products. My wife is an author and is interested in creating a Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account to publish her books.
I would like to know if opening a KDP account in her name could in any way impact or risk the deactivation of my existing Seller Central account.
I’m seeking clarification and guidance on this matter.
Thanks in Advance

Hi @Seller_ENZqWParUHtdL
Connor from Amazon here, thank you for reaching out to us.
To answer your question, yes, your wife can have a KDP account and it wouldn't affect your Seller Account Directly.
Here are key things to consider while she is setting up her KDP account:
Individual Account: Her KDP account should be set up in her name, with her legal information (tax ID, bank account) for royalty payments. This helps maintain the separation.
Unique Credentials: While Amazon does link KDP accounts to a general Amazon shopping account, it's generally recommended for your wife to use her own email address and login for her KDP account to keep things organized.
Comply with KDP Policies: Just like your Seller Central account, her KDP account will need to adhere to all KDP content guidelines, terms of service, and publishing policies. Violations on her KDP account would only affect her KDP account, not your Seller Central account.
I hope this answers your question, please let me know if I can help with anything else.
Best,
Connor
