Purchasing Postage for Multiple Orders of Same Buyer
Hi,
I’ve just begun purchasing postage via Amazon for my orders, but I’d like to know if a buyer places two separate orders which are being delivered to the same address if it’s possible to purchase postage for both orders so they can be shipped in one package rather than having to purchase postage for each individual order.
Thanks

If both items are separate orders, then no, you can’t combine them on the system, what you can do is adjust the weight on the fist order for both items, print the label, then manually mark the second item as dispatched and enter either tracking, or the 2D barcode number on the first label for the second order.

It’s strange anomaly of the Royal Mail postal service that it often costs more to send one large parcel rather than 2 small ones. For example a single CD/DVD costs £1.22 second class but if I put 2 items in one parcel it will cost me £2.85 whereas 2 sent individually is £2.44

I would put them side by side and send as a large letter!

This is all we’ve ever used, it works well for us and you with the look of it, great news for those who think Royal Mail are not up to the job, they are and all those discounts add up, even when you are sending books, plus it is so much easier than some of the so called courier services who use Royal Mail for the end leg of the shipping, then people wonder why items go astray, have been with Royal Mail 10 years and had so few problems I wouldn’t use anyone else, so yes I am with you on this one where PPI is concerned.

Sign Store is right; they easily fall within large letter dimensions (35 x 25 x 2.5 cms) when packed side by side.
BTW a Large Parcel is in excess of 61 x 46 x 46 cms, which would hold a heck of a lot more than 2 DVDs!

>If id use the usual rates from royal mail it would have been £17.68<
Not quite, using normal rates for online labels it would have cost £14.92 not £17.68

hello
if you use DMO through linnworks royalmail give you a refund of approx 0.89 per 10 parcels/ large letters. etc
we have started to use this and we have got a lot of discounts via linnoworks
it may be as we are using our own labels and it is cost effective for royalmail.
we have been doing manually in 2016 and you dont get any discounts.
since using linnwork and we get more discounts and the fact all are scanned and delivered now even large letters since christmas

I’ve sent a side, by side, by side, (3x2) 6 thin pocket books in total.
All bubble wrapped and taped onto a thin card to stay in place in a large J***fy envelope still classed as a " letter " as in France we have a 3cm depth limit for letter post which makes all the difference.
Savings on postage costs weren’t an issue for the customer as not sold on Amazon.
