New Seller Ungating
Hi:
As a new seller, I am discovering quite a bit during this journey. While I am auto-ungated for very few products, most of them that I apply for have either 100, 300 or even 400 unit requirements. My question is, does this have to be 400 units of the exact same product? What if for example, I buy shampoo. Can it be 100 each of 4 different scents, but all the same brand and type? If I purchase 400 units of the same product, do I have to purchase 400 units of the same product but different scent in order to ungate that individual product? This has been the biggest challenge as a new seller and not a mistake I want to make. Thanks in advance.

Before you go buying 100's of product-make sure you are brand authorized, not just by Amazon. Amazon will approve an application to sell but then shut you down because the brand doesn't allow 3rd party sellers.

Hello @Seller_YDiolFRswmtVc- I appreciate you looking to the forums for some guidance on establishing approvals to sell. For whichever products you end up deciding to sell, I'd recommend reviewing the sourcing guidelines and invoicing guidelines to ensure compliance!
Additionally, and as @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9noted, Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. Be sure to review the Approvals process as a whole, and the information on letters of authorization, which is a valuable addition if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.
If you have a relationship with the brand/publisher, you can to be added as an authorized 3rd party reseller through Brand Registry (but the brand has to add you on their end). Once that has occurred you can attempt to list again and if you still have any issues reach out to support letting them know you are now in the brand's Brand Registry approved list.
