Sales Drop Linked to ‘Top Reviews for Business’ Widget Only on Our Listings – Unfair Situation

Hi everyone,

We recently noticed a sharp and unexpected drop in our sales and, after digging deeper, found something that seems quite unfair. I’m sharing this here to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue or has advice on how to escalate it further with Amazon.

At first, we couldn’t understand why our sales and conversion rates had dropped so suddenly. Nothing else had changed — our products are well-reviewed, and we’ve been consistent with ads and promotions.

To give you context: One of our products has 1,800+ ratings with an average of 4.4 stars. Another has over 1,000 ratings with an average of 4.1 stars. Monthly total unit sales were 1000 units. (Now, less than 400)

After investigating further, we noticed that the “Top Reviews for Business” widget had suddenly appeared on both of these listings — and here’s the kicker:

* On one listing, the widget highlights a 1-star review with zero Helpful votes. This is despite our product having over 1,400 reviews with an average rating of 4.4 stars, including 1,230 five-star ratings, one of which has 126 Helpful tags.

* On the other listing, it features a 3-star review, even though there are hundreds of positive reviews with high Helpful counts.

The frustrating part is this widget seems to appear only on our listings in the category. We checked competitor products, and none of them have this widget .!

The reviews highlighted in the widget are completely unrepresentative of the overall customer feedback. For products with thousands of happy customers and hundreds of positive, helpful reviews, featuring a random (or intentionaly), low-rated review just doesn’t make sense.

We’ve already opened a case with Seller Support, but so far, the responses haven’t addressed the core issue:

- Why is the “Top Reviews for Business” widget showing only on our listings?

- What logic or algorithm prioritises which reviews get displayed?

- If you’ve faced something similar — or if you know how to escalate this further — we’d really appreciate your insights.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I hope Amazon can look into this and ensure their systems treat sellers fairly because right now, this feels like an inconsistent and damaging issue.

Amazon won’t even see your post- you need to tag a couple of mods in who might respond. They will need your case number.

I understand the Case number would be necessary. Here is the case number: 10626737462.

I can provide screenshots of the responses we've received. If anyone has encountered this problem before or if a moderator could offer assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.
