I am SO FED UP

of finding listings like this

img

Amazon wants a catalogue, fair enough, but it's about time it acknowledges that it's not achievable unless it's heavily monitored or they should change the system. This is bad for customers, sellers and it doesn't make Amazon look good. This listing was created over a year ago.

Been there, done that. My problem is that my suppliers are brand owners and often manufacturers and are, with the exception of one, not on Amazon. The brands have been claimed by others who are probably no longer on Amazon. The ironic thing is that I am authorised to list products from these brands, but I can't make changes. Unfortunately, when listings are old they need updating, packaging change and sometimes even the size or the name.

When you do all that they will probably say the listing is "controlled by the Brand Owner" who will be someone who left Amazon 10 years ago when the brand program didn't even exist.

Basically it's a waste of time trying to update a listing unless you are the brand owner. 99% of the time they wont make any changes.

I have found (and was confirmed by a support member of the catalogue team) that if you are the only seller on a listing, making changes can be done quite easily by editing the listing yourself.

The only thing you cannot change is Brand name or the EAN.

Had this issue only last week with a picture on a branded listed being wrong and it accepted my updated pictures within 2 hours.

No harm in listing the item and updating,

If the updates dont take place within 24 hours then delete it back out again.

Another one...luckily I am out of stock.

The Item Name (aka Title) has the following prohibited phrase(s) Perfect For All Kitchens, which are not compliant with Amazon policy and should be removed from the Item Name (aka Title).

You are not authorised to fix this issue. A contribution from the brand owner or an authorised reseller is required to resolve this issue and activate the ASIN. If you are the brand owner or an authorised reseller for this brand, please apply for the appropriate role for this brand in Amazon Brand Registry.
