Automatic removal of your aged FBA inventory

Starting on September 15, 2022, Amazon will automatically remove aged inventory unless you’ve opted out. We will take this step in order to create more room for the approaching holiday season.

Aged inventory refers to units that have been in a fulfilment centre for more than 365 days. Automated removal of aging inventory can help you save on aged inventory surcharges and improve your Inventory Performance Index score.

To have your aged inventory returned to you, go to Automated fulfillable inventory settings and provide a valid return address. Otherwise, your inventory will be automatically donated, recycled or disposed of.

To opt out of automated removal of aged inventory, go to Automated fulfillable inventory settings. In the Automated long-term storage removal settings section, select Disable.

Note: Automated removals can’t be cancelled once they have been created. Update your settings as soon as possible.

If you have aged inventory and haven’t updated your removal settings, we will let you know of upcoming removals by email.

To update your settings, go to Automated fulfillable inventory settings.

To view your aging inventory, go to FBA Inventory.

So does this mean you cannot have stock in fba centres for more than a year full stop?

What about those not on mainland UK?

I’m waiting patiently for the day I can actually get my stock back. Seems unfair that you won’t return our stock to northern ireland

I reduce my prices to try to sell items, but sometimes they just don’t sell, it’s not worth the expense of advertising and yes I’ve had stock for a year in fba, they are tiny so my storage fees are less than £10 a month, and my ipi hovers around 650.

I opted to dispose of my stock about a month and a half ago. Right now My inventory shows “0” stock available and 35 reserved units. My listing is deactivated too. Does anyone know where I can get any form of proof that Amazon has disposed of my goods ? I haven’t been charged by Amazon for the disposal yet. I need to show my accounts that I no longer keep stock in the UK

They’re happy to take my stock, and sell me stuff, but not return it to me :frowning:

I read that myself, I’m thinking of boxing the other half’s parents up and sending them FBA, to see how well it works!

I regard this as theft. Amazon are stealing your products and throwing them away. Its your property. You own it.

You are giving them the task of storing it, providing a platform for potential customers to find it, transact it, and ship it. For which you are paying a lot in fees for actioning each of these tasks.

If your items sell in a week, 52 weeks or 10 years, it does not matter. (unless the goods are perishable) Its your property, you own it. Amazon are purely a vehicle to expose it to sale and deliver it when it does. As long as you continue to pay the storage fees, they have no right to alter, or remove your property in anyway.

Of course, they can chase you, encourage you to take action to sell it faster and remove it from their business. But they providing a service, so it up to them to facilitate that.
