False categorisation of our product. HELP!
Amazon moved our listings to inactive and restricted category after we shipped in 16,500+ units across 15-18 SKUs and we do not understand why. It now says request approval to sell and says that they are not taking applications to sell Medical Products in new condition but our products are mechanics disposable work gloves. We sold 2 units before Amazon decided to restrict us and have incurred a £967 storage fee for the stock held up as this has gone on for a month now. We are now facing the prospect of being obliged to pay 98p per unit in removal fees. How and why were we allowed to ship so much stock in if it is restricted? How have they classified our branded product as medical products when we do not advertise or recommend them for medical use. How can we resolve this? The ideal outcome is our listings are moved to active and we can start selling.

Firstly double check the sizes are correct as £967 for 1 month of storage fees is a lot
What size packs are the gloves?
Whats the asin ?
Are you fully registered and verified as a business seller ? With your ltd company ?

Amazon don’t restrict how much of each ASIN you can send in. The amount you send is up to you. If the ASIN later becomes restricted, removed or in any way unsellable the seller has to take the responsibility of removing the item.
In hindsight shipping in 16,500 units over 15-18 SKU’s is probably far too many. That is more stock than I have in FBA and I have over 1,000 active SKU’s. Going forward you are probably best to keep minimal stock in FBA and replenish regularly as listing issues do happen which result in you having to remove stock.
There is probably a keyword in the listing that they have picked up on which makes them think they are medical. You need to look at the listing or provide the ASIN so we can take a look and see why they are restricted.
The only way of resolving this is to prove to Amazon they are not for medical use. However it is sometimes very hard to appeal these type of decisions as Amazon do not easily change their mind. Do you have any documentation to prove what use the gloves are for?
There removal fees are as follows, i assume you mean 96p rather than 98p…as The Little Shop says check your measurements and weights as the band of 501-1000 grams for disposable gloves seems very heavy.

I wonder if the issue is that the category they are in, Disposable Gloves, is treated as a medical product category?
