Two Day Premium Delivery - Now Showing Saturdays as a Working Day?
Can anyone advise how long this has been the case?
Was just testing something for a potential promtion and noticed that when going through to a checkout for my Two Day Premium Delivery - it was advising delivery on Saturday 20th March.
From the Premium Shipping Page...
Two-Day Delivery will show an Estimated Delivery Date that is two or three working days after the order date. Orders that you receive Monday-Friday before 2:00 p.m. local time will show an Estimated Delivery Date that is two working days after the order date. Orders that you receive after 2:00 p.m. local time on a working day, or on a weekend or holiday, will show an Estimated Delivery Date that is three working days after the order date.
How long has amazon considered a Saturday a working day for Premium Shipping? And is anyone else seeing this? Obviously its only going to be an issue for customers viewing from 2pm Wednesday through to 23:59 Thursday, but still!

We've always had this problem, Amazon consider Saturday a standard delivery day. some of our items can only go by courier and they charge a premium for Saturday deliveries which we cant pass on to the customer. As a result we either lose money on some orders or disappoint customers with a late delivery which arrives on the Monday when Amazon say it should be delivered on a Saturday

Royal Mail deliver Tracked 24 mail Monday to Sunday now . So I make use of that on my Busimess account for my 2 day delivery

This has proven problematic for us too. We now use Royal Mail special delivery on Fridays, in hope they're delivered Saturday.

@Julia_Amzn I'm sorry but can you or another moderator advise on this? The page on Two Day Delivery clearly states that the estimated delivery date should be two working days after the order date. Saturday is not a Working Day. It might be a day that some couriers deliver, but in the UK, its accepted that working days are Monday to Friday.

We are on automated shipping now and this also includes Saturday. Was previously on two day premium and that was also including Saturday as a working day. None of the couriers regard saturday as a working day. We have to absorb that extra cost!
Amazon also include some locations in Scotand as normal mainland UK even though none of the couriers regard many Scottish locations (in the North of Scotland) as normal mainland destinations.
We increased prices on all items to cover these blips.

We queried this when the shipping went to 1-day and 2-day deliveries, whereas previously, it was just Expedited. That was many years ago.
It was clarified then that Amazon classes Monday to Saturday as Working Days to deliver. They said at the time Royal Mail and most couriers deliver on those days.
Later, they added in Buy Shipping, and Evri deliver on those 6 days. DPD and now Royal Mail Tracked 24 now deliver all 7 days a week so I'd not push it too hard, otherwise Amazon may make a 2-day delivery shipped on a Friday to be delivered by Sunday, as most arrive on Saturday and virtually all by Sunday with DPD and RM Tracked 24.
We send all our 2-day orders on a 24 next day delivery, that way it allows for any delivery glitches, and rarely the Premium Services removed. We no longer offer 1-day as sometimes some did not arrive, eg RM hold-over if going to a business, sent on a Friday, usual delivery on a Saturday, but closed, so delivery on Monday.
We use Parcelforce as well, so always a toss-up on a Thursday, do we send on their 24 service and trust it will get there the next day (Friday), or use a different courier, and know if an issue delivering on a Friday, they will deliver on a Saturday. Parcelforce would only deliver on a Monday, and then that would cause us a defect.
It would be nice like SFP, as long as a Seller proves shipped on time on a 2-day Premium delivery (even if that is Monday to Saturday), then no defect, even if the courier is late. Likewise, if shipped on a 1-day, Monday to Saturday, again proof and all ok. Maybe then then more would offer Premium 1-day.
It would also be better if a Seller can choose the 2-day and 1-day deliveries to be Monday to Friday, or Monday to Saturday, or even now Monday to Sunday.
The main issue I've noticed from the forum though is Sellers charging for Premium 1-day and wanting 1st class post to be ok. Then when it takes 2 or 3 days, wonder why Premium removed. Likewise with Evri 2-day and expecting 100% to be on time.

For sure as everyone says, this has been amazons way for years, they dont consider the fact it costs more to deliver saturdays as their problem
